Hi all we are due to fly out in November and we have read a lot of advice about flying with young children. It will be the first time they have flown my daughters worried they will be restless one is 3 the other will be 1. We have read up that to occupy them buy little pocket size presents and every hour or so let the little ones take a lucky dip into the bag of presents. We have been buying some ready and thought about wrapping these up just to pass a bit more time but wondered whether this would create problem for us when we went through Gatwick's passport control. Do you think it would be ok as everything is xrayed or will they be taken away from us as they are wrapped. Thanks [msnembarrased]

You could place them in small gift bags..not wrap them

Funnily enough,we stayed over Christmas last year, so took presents for our two to open on Christmas day. They were packed together in the same carry on case. We told security at Manchester Airport what they were, & they (very discretely) re-checked the bag through a scanner, with no problems. [msnsmile2]

If they have a problem (which they shouldn't really as they go through the scanner) they can always unwrap them at security while your daughter keeps the children amused elsewere.
