[msncry]Looks like we might have to cancel next years trip. We have booked the villa on the proviso that we can get flights (12 aug for 3 weeks). First time we have gone completely in holidays as we usually go into the beginning of term but we will have 1 starting 6th form and 1 starting secondary school. Looking at prices for August albeit early August the prices are horrendous (even indirect) and we can't afford (or justify) spending that sort of money. So far have seen £800ish a flight[msncry] Won't cancel until we have prices for later August but not looking good, even miles and money flights
Have you looked at flying into Sanford with Thomson or Monarch. The offer some good deals so worth a look at flights only.

What about Delta they can come in cheaper sometimes and if you do not mind changing planes at either JFK or ALANTA it is worth it if you save money .
You have to keep looking a little later as it is a long way of yet .
Good luck

They're showing at around £900 return at the moment.
Thankfully I don't have to stick to school holidays but I can't believe these fares will stay at these levels if they're hoping to sell their tickets.

What about flying into Miami, they are coming up quite a bit cheaper. We have just secured some Virgin flying direct at just over £700. Don't forget the taxes have shot up also. You can still get some decent prices for school holidays next year.

I have got a e-mail from American Airlines saying book before 14 SEPTEMBER they are adverising £331 .00 but not got prices for august next year you can only get a costing a few months in advance they go via Chicago .
It is worth trying a lot of times per week as they put them out when not busy just like Virgin do .

Not all the flights are out yet, I would wait a bit before booking anything as some only come out 11 months beforehand

I'm sure AA's sale fare to Orlando you're referring to was over £400. If I recall correctly it was around £440.

Thats not bad Robert £409 and £424 for AA from Heathrow up until the 29 JUNE 2011 ,the person who i was putting it on for as seen flights for August for £900 .00 so at least he will know they may come down .So do not cancel yet as it is a long way away all i was saying to Samantha wait and see later .
The air companys do this every year and if everyone waits as they do they will need cash flow .
It came on the e-mail from £331 .00 to get you in as always happens so we will have to watch this space

Thanks guys, I have been looking at all possibilities not just Virgin as I don't care who we fly with as long as we get there! We have, heaven forbid, looked at [msneek] package in a hotel [msneek] which ridiculously is about the same price as some of the flight onlys. If we can get a cheap deal may even book that and not use the accomodation part. Will report back when we know what we are doing but thank you for all your replies. Fingers crossed that all of us tied to school hols go when we want/can go
