Have a wonderful time - we really enjoy Christmas in Florida, especially the parades and the 'snow'.

Wish we could go this year but Andrew will have to work all Christmas and the New Year this year and it does not seem a good idea to leave a 'young man' home alone over the 'party' season.

We go in October/November and again Feb/March. My daughter would never leave her dogs over Christmas and I would not leave my daughter at Christmas so for us Christmas in the US is not an option.

Oh wow, I bet you'll have an amazing time :D we visited EuroDisney a few years for Christmas and it was immense- the decorations and the atmosphere were out of this world! I'm very jealous of you right now![msntongue]
Have a brilliant holiday!! [xmas2]

We are flying out on the 19th December for our daughters wedding on the 22nd December. I've always wanted to visit Orlando at Christmas time and always thought that( because I work in a well known chemist shop[msnwink] ), I would never be allowed to take the time off. My daughter, Zoe has made my wishes a reality [msnsmile2]. I can't wait!!

We are flying out on Christmas eve, staying for 3 weeks. First time we have ever been away for Christmas.

Worrying now about getting food in for Christmas dinner. We arrive on Christmas Eve at 3.40pm, Mco and then need to reach shop to buy food after collecting car. Can see this is going to be tricky and cannot find anyway to order and purchase before arriving, leaving us just to collect. I had thought this would be possible but it is not looking as if it is. No closure times online for Publix or Walmart for christmas holidays and starting to panic.

Should not worry too much Jan. I am sure Walmart & Publix will still be open if you go straight there from the airport. They will want to get as much money as they can and lots of people work late and do their shopping late.

Have a great time.

Walmart and Publix closed between 6-7pm last Christmas Eve - so you will be fine.

We fly out 12th Dec until 8th Jan - Christmas in Florida is wonderful.

It may be a bit tight (can you get someone to get some basics in for you to tide you over for a couple of days?

Assuming your flight is on time (and inDec weather could be a factor)
that may only allow a couple of hours for clearing immigration, getting hire car and luggage and getting to Walmart etc. last year they closed at around 6 ish until about 7am on the 26th. Many of the garages will be open so you may be able to pick some bits up there.

Have you thought of asking your owner if their management company would provide a 'welcome package' for you? I know that there are lots of management companies that offer this service. You give them a list of what you would like and for a nominal charge (plus the items costs )they will be waiting in your villa.

There will also be restaurants open on Xmas Day but if you want a family meal together without having to worry about if you will make the shops, it is worth a try.

Hi Jan
We had this from our guests who stayed last Christmas (they arrived after 9pm on Christmas Eve) - so may help you, if you get delayed.
"Thank you very much for the "Welcome Pack" and also the christmas tree and presents for the kids - very thoughtful. By the way, should anyone else arrive late on Christmas Eve, Winn Dixie on US27 are open Christmas Day."

We contacted Walmart at Caggans Crossing and Publix at Champions Gate last year and neither were open on Christmas Day and both closed early on Christmas eve, may change for this year though, so may be worth contacting them nearer the time.

Have a great holiday.
