Christmas and New Year period they have thousands of lights and the biggest Christmas tree I've ever seen. Well worth a look and a wonderfully relaxing day away from the main theme parks.:)

The water park must be new-it wasn't there last year.

we have a lovely picture of our daughter in the villa lounge dressed as a southern belle. She was 23 at the time-but thoroughly enjoyed it.
The lady who did 'the make--over' took her almost waist length hair and dressed it a la scarlett o'hara in about 10 mins flat-with curls and ringlets and things-I was very impressed.
It was about $45 and you got some lovely photos as well as parading around the park all dolled up.
Some guests have seen the photo and let their daughters do it.
People kept asking my daughter directions-they thought she was a member of staff. I have a lovely photo of my son stood between his sister in pink and a staff member inturquoise crinoline looking like a rose between two thorns.
It was great fun.

Cypress Gardens Poinsetta Festival has to be seen to be believed.
From late November to mid-January there is a spectacular floral showcase featuring nearly 50,000 poinsettas of all shades, from white through pink to the red we associate with Christmas. Not the puny little things we see here in the UK. They even maange topiary with these wonderful plants. This is I think one of the best times to visit Cypress Gardens. Add the poinsetts to the Giant Christmas tree and you have a Magical show....

One of the most spectacular exhibits at Cypress Gardens is
Wings of Wonder, the Butterfly Conservatory. Over 1000 brilliant butterflies fly free in this rain forest environment of 80 degrees/70% relative humidity year round. It's a paradise. As you enter you realise right away that a wonderful new experience is about to unfold before your eyes. Flashes of blazing colour swish past your face and, may even land on your shoulder before dashing off again to feed on the pentas, porterweed, and lantanas plants I had only seen before in hot-houses. My first instinct was all this real? but when a butterfly landed on my arm I was lost in the wonder of it all. From so small that they were hard to pick out to large incredibly coloured ones ....I didn't want to leave.

In 10 years of visiting Florida, I'm almost ashamed to admit that we've never been to Cypress Gardens, it just didn't appeal to us

Having read all this it's now definitely on our list-of-things-to-do when we next visit[u]
