I am planning a 3 week holiday to Florida am unsure what size vehicle will meet the needs of my party plus luggage. The party will consist of, 6 adults, 5 children and 1 infant, and we will have approximately 11 large suitcases.
My options as I see it is to either have two 8 seaters or one 12 (or maybe 15) seater.
My concern is, which arrangement will suit my needs best with regards ensuring I will be able to accomodate all the luggage when travelling to and from the airport.
Any suggestions?

i am in the same piosition as u, we are going for three weeks in novemebr and there is a party of 6 adults, 2 children and 1 infant, but we know that there are more people out ther on holiday with us at the same time.
i think a 12 seaetr and a 15 seater are the same, but the last row of seats is folded down in a 15 seater to make a 12 seater.

we hired one of these.
bigger the better i think. better to have more space than not enough...

Are you sure you will all want to do all activities together at all times?

Yes 1 car/van means everyone always doing things together, if there is a chance that people want to do different things then 2 cars/vans would be better.

We went out last year and we had 7 adults and 4 children, we packed light though so only had 7 suitcases, we made use of the villas washing machine and bought whilst out there meaning we had three more suitcases when we returned. We hired a 7 seater dodge caravan and a fve seater full sized car, which gave us plenty of room for everything and everyone. (we even drove to miami for the final few days) This also gave us flexability incase some wanted to do something different to the rest. We are due out again in october, all eleven of us and will be hiring the same again. If you are worried about the group size then in my oppinion, go for two of the seven/eight seaters. We had two adults and three children in the full sized car and five adults and one child in the seven seater leaving one seat free.

If I were you, I would get one 12 seater and one economy or mid size car. If you have at least one car where you can all go together, it means you only need one driver if you are out for a meal or something like that. Also, if you can all fit into one car, it will make a difference in the amount you pay for car parking at the parks. Having two cars will mean that you don't all have to do the same thing.

My advice would be one 8 seat and a 7 seater. We had an 8 seater a few years ago and it is rather uncomfortable, althought in saying that it's not too bad, a 7 seater is great, a Dodge caravan or the likes. The 8 seater will have loads of room for your luggage

With a party this size, even if you get a 12 seater, I would get a second vehicle as it gives you the freedom to spit if you need to, when kids are tired, men fed up with shopping etc

I agree with Nuala & Shirley. A 12 seater and an economy would cover all options, it would give you the room for the cases on the trips to and from the airport, would allow for trips all together and for seperate trips.
