Hiya, just arrived in Kissimmee yesterday.

Picked up a Dodge Caravan at MCO.

Nice car but i've noticed the steering wheel starts judderring quite badly and it's got the stopping distance of 20 tonne truck.

We're thinking of going further afield Tuesday/Wednesday and I would prefer to exchange it.

What's the drill with this? Do I try and organise it through USCARHIRE?

Do i just take it back? Will trying to do it on a weekend be difficult?

Can i take it to a depot at Disney?

We're staying at the Windsor Hills resort.

Any advice appreciated.

I would ring the Alamo assistance line and tell them you are bringing the car back for exchange.

There should be no problem with changing at the depot at Disney.

Many years ago we collected a car at the airport and changed it on the 192 as we had a problem with the car and that was more convenient for us.

Doing it at the weekend should not be any more problematic than any other time.

If we have a problem with the actual car we normally go direct as it will need to go back to the garage.

We also had a problem with a 7 seater van and took it back to the 192 but they didn't have a replacement there at the time. We were given a 15 seater to get us to Dollar on International Drive (quite an experience to drive something that big)

It might be more convenient to forewarn them so that they can arrange to have a replacement ready for you to pick up.

They are very good and do not mind that you got it from the airport .

We had a car with Alamo that had a problem, took it back to the airport and they changed it, they did say that unless we wanted to pay for petrol bring it back full as that was how we collected it, we thought this was a bit much as the problem was there fault not ours.

Never taken a vehicle back with Alamo but have done with Dollar. Phoned ahead and they arranged for a similar car to be available when we got to the pick up point on the 192. I'm assuming Alamo do something similar.

We had a problem with a car once and just drove to the nearest Alamo depot and they changed it without question. The window kept going down on its own - mind you my husband blamed me for not closing it until he drove it himself and when he came back it had gone down. Funny how men always blame someone else!!
