Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on which airline is best to choose?
Looking for direct flights from Scotland to Florida, comfy, spacious seating and good fares if possible!

Thanks

We are going with Virgin from Glasgow in April, don't know if they fly all year round though and it can be a bit pricey.
They are the only ones that fly direct now though -I think.

BA fly direct but not sure if they fly from Scotland, I would think they do but have a look on their website and that will tell you, the only other I can think of is Virgin as already suggested.
Personally we never mind indirect flights as you clear customs in your first airport and then in Orlando all you have to do is pick up your luggage and off to collect your car and often the queue is not as long as when a full Virgin plan lands. Do not dismiss it, try it especially if the price is good. Another plus is that you can stretch your legs and have a walk about between flights and a decent cup of coffee.

Depending on when you are going try Thomson/First Choice their premium seating is very comfy.

Jackie, we went from Glasgow with Continental in November last year and we're doing the same this year. They go through Newark. Loads of room, telly back seats and all flights on time (in fact the Glasgow - Newark was 30 mins early). Not direct but there aren't any direct flights from Glasgow in November so it will depend when you want to go.

Hi Jacquie

To confirm, BA fly direct to Orlando and Tampa from Gatwick and to Miami from Heathrow. They do not fly into these destinations directly from Glasgow or Manchester.

Hi
We live in Glasgow and have 2 villas in Florida. We therefore travel back and forwards 2,3 or 4 times each year from Glasgow to Orlando for the past 13 years.
We must have used every airline - direct and indirect.
My advice is - direct if possible. This is now very limited - Virgin are my number one choice but they only fly from Glasgow around 12 times per year at school hols - so April, late June, July and October. You can check the exact dates on their website.
They also fly direct from Manchester twice a day to Orlando International and it is much cheaper but you have the drive from Glasgow - OK on the way down, not so great on the way back.
Indirect - either via Gatwick (BA or Virgin) but connections not great on the way back or Amsterdam or other European hub.
I would however recommend if you are going Indirect using one of the American airlines - the options from Glasgow are now limited to Continental via Newark (good times and connections, service not great, usually cheap) or US Airways via Philadelphia - similar level as Continental. They don't fly all year - I think they start again in May. The advantage of connecting in the USA is you need to clear immigration at the first point of entry so when you arrive into Orlando International it is much quicker coming from a domestic flight and you are out with your luggage into the car much quicker.
This is my personal experience. Not sure it helps.
