Hi, this is my first post in what is an excellent site with great information. We are due in Orlando in May and have yet to sort out car hire, which I plan to do so through this site. Anyway I quite like the idea od a convertible and am not to fussed whether its a Mustang or Sebring. I do however want to avoid a VW Beetle and PT Cruiser convertible. Whats a safe way to do this?

Next question.... I plan to hire a mid-size SUV to get all my stuff to villa then change to convertible, and the same at the end of our holiday. I really dont want to drive all the way back to the airport to change, so bearing in mind the above question, who would be closer to Champions Gate?

OK, one more question... Is there enough space in the back of a convertible for one child? And whats more, would it be too windy and noisy?

Please feel free to highlight any stupidity

Thanks

Nick

The suppliers go through phases of different typical car types. Last year for example Alamo were often supplying PT Cruisers, but now seem to be more often supplying the Chrysler Sebring.

The Sebring probably has the most leg room in the back compared to the Mustang and other models.

We now have videos of the Alamo typical fleet of cars (link below) so you can see how the back seats look.

We got a Sebring last summer, and although we would have much preferred a Mustang (personal thing) we enjoyed it. Our two kids fit perfectly in the back seats, but they did complain it was windy back there. They quite enjoyed it when we were "strolling along", but not at normal speed. No big deal, we did a lot of top on / top off / top on again [msnwink], it's automatic anyway.
Car depots depend on the companies I guess, but I'm sure there will be one closer than MCO. We rented with Budget and used their Old Town depot when we had to switch cars (our first convertible, the top would not come down, it kind of loses its charm [msnsad]). Beware the office hours, which may not be so large as MCO.

Dollar have a depot on the 192 almost opposite Celebration.
We've had Sebrings and Mustangs - the mustang is fine if it's just 2 the 2 of you or if your kids are tiny but if they've got 'legs' they'll be more comfortable in the Sebring.
Don't forget caps etc it's really easy to get too much sun with the roof down and the wind keeping you cool.
