passing on details

just a quick question regarding the passing on of details, i notice it does say on the villa enquiry section that if the owner does not have availability then my details will be passed to others that may have those dates free and there's a box to tick to send to all 5 bed villa owners

can i ask if i enquire about a villa and ask in the requirements box for my details not to be passed onto to other owners should the villa i enquired about not be available would this request be unreasonable and will it or should it be honored?

the reason being is as a returning villa guest and user of this site i have a very specific area and requirements in mind when looking for a villa and i have made a enquiry and asked this and with the owner being unavailable for my dates i seem to now be getting responses from other villa owners which i am suprised by

also i think it's a shame for the person responding as in many cases it would be a waste of their time as they do not know what i am looking for in a villa or the locations i would consider renting in [msnsad]

i would have prefered to have been given the option to look for myself and enquire about the ones i am interested in so i am not wasting anyones time and then if i cannot find a villa then maybe use the general enquiry facility with a "wish list" of sorts

perhaps this can be taken on board in the future or maybe it already is the norm i'd be interested to know for future reference?

Yes, absolutely it should be honoured. You do need to make it *very* obvious in the comments section as I do scan the comments sections for this kind of thing when re-sending enquiries out but can miss the odd one (I'm only human at the end of the day [msnwink]) for one reason or another.

I've just looked up your enquiry as I see you did indeed request for it not to be re-sent, but that was after some other initial comments about various things. My apologies but I totally missed the note about not re-sending it as I had quite a few enquiries to send out and a few other things on my plate at the time (not OV related).

thanks John i do understand that mistakes can be made and i was very aware of not wanting to waste other owners time (i thought it was just a over enthusiastic owner forwarding it on)

Yes please - if you can put the request at the start of the comments and maybe even put that bit in capitals if you want to make it very obvious. Flashing lights and a sound when I click on it would help as well [msnwink][msnsmile][msnwink][msnsmile].

It's not often I miss one so it looks like you were just unlucky I'm afraid.
