Passport enquiry

Hi,

I am due to go to the US next week. My families passports all have chips but mine hasnt. It has a bar code and therefore machine readable. Is mine okay to enter or do i need to get one with a chip in?

Machine readable passports are fine. I think they only have a chip if they have recently been renewed. We went in August my sons has a chip but both mine and my husbands have the bar codes - no problems at all

Not sure if they have changed it yet, but last time we went not all the Immigration desks had the bio chip readers so youu had to go to certain ones if your passport has the chip. Even though yours hasn't you should still stay with your family and go to the other desk with them.

Either passports are acceptable, as my whole family besides me have the chip and I have not had any issues, and we travel every year to orlando.
