Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has any recent experience of flying Martinair? We are looking at a Florida hol again this december and they have some good prices from Manchester to Amsterdam and then Orlando so am tempted - but any thoughts please?[msnsmile]

If the price suits you then go for it. Everyone will have a tale good or bad about most airlines, so you just have to go yourself to try it. Have not heard any adverse reports about Martinair that stick in my memory.

What are the prices being advertised?

I would think again. Martinair is a Dutch company and does not have a a great reputation for flights to the US. In 2008 they suddenly cancelled their flights to Orlando and forced everyone who had allready booked to fly to Miami or get a refund. Now they are back with flights to Orlando. However consider this. Martinair is a relatively small company so if there is a problem with a plane you can expect massive delays as there will be no spare capacity. They do not have their own check-in at Orlando but rely on agents there. Also, how are you going to fly to Amsterdam as Martinair does not serve that route ? (correct me if I am wrong) I have flown Martinair to the US in the past but would never do it again. I am also on several Dutch boards about Florida and a lot of Dutch rather fly a British or American company with a stop-over than go for the convenience of the direct flight. Just my 2 cents
