Hi Everyone
I have just read that there is a new (2007) road from 192 going directly into WDW. I believe that it is called Western Beltway (Toll Rd) - SR 429 and accessible to those communities to the west - we are staying at Westridge. I reckon we travel north on 27 and then east on 192 for a couple of miles and then take a left. My questions are:
Where will it bring you into in the World
Is it being used much and how much will it cost (this might seem daft, but ... do you pay travelling into WDW and also out of WDW - we have a bridge that you only pay to go one way over ... hence the slightly silly question!
Thanks for all your help.
Regards
Lynne

The road is the 429 and it cost $1 -unless it has gone up recently -both ways.It actually takes you quite a way north then drops you back down south a bit and you hit Disney from the West on Western Way .If you use Google maps you can follow the route of the road to see exactly where it goes.It is quicker as it doesn't get a lot of traffic -as to whether it is shorter is debatable and it would depend on where in Disney you are heading

It may be just as quick to go South down the 27, onto the I4 then onto the 429. The first toll is still 1$.

We use this road a lot from our home, which is at the junction of the 192 and the 27, about 5 minutes north of Westridge. It is a great road and brings you out onto Disney property near Animal Kingdom. It is about 3 miles from the junction of the 192 and the 27, and about a mile before you turn off the 429. In fact, when you join it from the 192 you seem to be hardly on it before you turn off it.

The beauty of this road is that very few people seem to know about it so it is nearly always empty, and particularly at night when you want to leave the park it is a breeze. Saves joining everyone else piling out of the parks and leaving via the I-4 at a peak time. In June we timed our journey from the gates of Disney to our home on the 27 and it was 10 mins. It would certainly be worth trying this road when you are there.

from Westridge, you would be better joining the 429 from the Poysner Park Shopping area and coming off directly onto the new Disney Turn off- great and quiet way.

Okay - so coming out of Westridge we would take a right and head down 27??? then look for a 429 road - is that right? Is it a west/east or north/south road .. i.e. which way to do go to get to Disney. Also, coming out of Disney - how do you find it?
Thanks for all your help.

You take the I4 from the 27 heading East and then take the 429 but personally if your on the I4 I would take the turn off onto the Osceola Parkway and not bother with the 429 it can only save time if your coming down the 192.

I would take a left out of westridge down the 27 and take a left into loughman Road (at traffic lights) then take a left onto Champions Gate Blvd, then take the I-4 to world Drive. I dont think the 429 would be a quick way in from westridge, not unless there is heavy congestion on the i-4.

That's the way I would go albeit I think you mean to turn right on the 27 as you come out from Westridge.
Also, for 'Loughman' the road signs probably say 'Ronald Reagan Parkway'. It's the same road anyway.

In summary, turn right on the 27 from Westridge, drive for a couple of miles until you reach the traffic lights and turn left onto the Ronald Reagan Pkwy (Loughman). Pass the firestation and after another mile or two and you come to a new set of traffic lights. Turn left for Champions Gate and after you pass the gas station, turn left onto the I4 (East).

From there, you can be at Disney in less than 10 minutes.
