American School Holidays 2009

Hi I'm off to Orlando in 3 weeks (24/8) and was wondering whether the US schools had gone back yet by the time we get there. If so the parks should be a lot quieter which will be great!!!

i understand that the schools go back in the second half of august so you should be ok-there is a definite difference-just those pesky brits to get rid of now.....[msnwink]

My grandchildren live in the States and all schools are usually back mid - end August.

Last week of August though some won't go back until the day after Labor Day.

We went on 22/8 last year and it was such a great time to go. The parks were really quiet although I cannot remember if this was the case right from the word go. If they were busy at the beginning it certainly was not enough days to make it memorable!

Some schools are already back. It's all about what county you live in. My kids (Seminole County) have another two weeks. Bravard County are back today.

when is labour day?[/quote]Labor Day is Sept. 7th. It is always the first Monday in September. A lot of schools, particularly in the northeastern states will not start until after Labor Day.

A lot of people where I live in MA holiday after mid Aug...most kids here go back to school after Sept 4th at the earliest...so you will still find a lot of Americans at the parks till mid Sept..
