My son had almost recovered from a sore ankle (fell off a high wall.. - nothing broken but he was on crutches for about a week at home) sp we decided not to have the hassle of travelling with the crutch and now after a couple of days here in Orlando he is hobbling really badly again. Any idea where we might be able to buy a crutch? Thanks.

We got an adjustable walking stick in a walgreens on the 192 a few years ago - they may know where to get one if they do not stock them.

You could ask at the Pharmacy in Walgreens, CVS, Walmart. They may be able to point you in the right direction. You could ring them up to enquire rather than trawling round each one.

Hope hubby gets sorted soon.

I think you also need to be prepared for a shock with the price! The ones in the UK seem to be around £16.99 but in Florida they're around $55.

Any of the pharmacists should be able to tell you where youu can get them. Also if he makes sure to rest it plenty it will help. Don't forget the flight and heat + extra walking will probably have all added to the extra pressure on his ankle. One thing we found with my husband who suffers badly with knee pain was to buy an ice bag (like the old fashioned ones round rubber with a cap) which I keep in my handbag and if they get too bag we get a load of ice from one of drink stalls in the park and he can sit and put that on for a while to relieve the pain.

Hubby was unfortunate to injure his knee at the start of our last trip and needed crutches. The clinic charged £45 for a pair of crutches on top of the treatment!!

He had recovered by the time we came home so we had to dump the crutches in the hotel!!

We had to buy crutches here and the clinic in Devon charged £25! Worth it though if it makes life more comfortable

They had them in the Walmart at Cagan Crossings when we were there 3 weeks ago. They were on the back wall to the right of the pharmacy but I didn't notice how much they were. Hubby was threatening to buy me some as I'd hurt my back, I ended up with some pain killers and a hot pack instead!

Much better now and pain free thank you. I found sitting by the pool with my feet up while hubby brought me cold drinks to be the best treatment [msnwink]
