Having visited Longboat Key Sarasota in June 2003, we have decided to take another trip in October this year for a couple of nights.

We are really wanting to know what the weather is like in October. I presume beach wear & sun cream will still be needed.

Personally it does not get any better on the coast than October, just as near perfect as you can get.

The blue brilliance of the skies, makes for great photos as well.

Over the last 2 years for some of our trips we have gone on late Nov early Dec.

2007 was 100% perfect in fact a swim in the gulf was required to cool off as it was so warm on the beach.
To quote our neighbour "It just does not get any better"

2008 a tad cooler but still on the beach and late night swimming was the order of the day.

January can be cool but it is still warm enough to swim, so long as the pool has electric pool heat.[msncool]

Enjoy

We usually go over for October half-term (late Oct/early Nov)and the weather is perfect. It is warm enough in the morning to eat breakfast outside on the lanai. It does get very warm during the day but without the summer humidity. The beaches are almost deserted.

It is one of my favourite times to be at the coast.

Re beachwear & suncream - I'd say definately![msncool]
