Hi Paul as you say there is the beach also you can go to DAYTONA race course and if there is no racing going on you can go to the stands and sit and watch cars practiceing .
We go to Ponce De Leon it is sign posted and the fishing boats go out ,The ususal time they come back is 4.00 pm and you see the people who have been fishing bringing back their catch very interesting .

If you are looking for a nice beach I would go to the Gulf Coast. If your going to Daytona for the Motorsport then a tour of the race track is a must, they alos have a museum. Close by are go carts and fixed Nitro drag racers you can have a go in.

Daytona is a relatively normal seafront town with a selection of shops, eating places etc but not particularly "attractive"-However i went and drove along Daytona beach just because i could (cost me a few dollars though as it was bikers week) but as is usual in the States they are geared up for it-go and enjoy it's a bit of fun!

I was there in Feb 2008 for the Daytona Speedway 50th anniversary. NASCAR is a thrilling spectacle even if you're not into motorracing. Other than that, I don't think I'd go out of my way to go to Daytona.
