If anybody is looking for a cheap flight on the 2/5/09-16/5/09 from Man or Gatwick to Sanford it is £133.96 with Thomson.

That sounds like a bargain[clap]
£30 extra to check in a suitcase as hold baggage though, this charge is the total for the return flight. otherwise you are limited to 5kg hand baggage, that's not really very much.
We just cruised back on a ship and brought 8 very heavy bags, the cruise cost was very reasonable and it would have cost us more to pay excess baggage. Looks like we'll be doing that more frequently when we have built up a lot of stuff at our Fl home which we need to bring back to UK.
Thomson/First Choice is still a bargain at this fare, even allowing for the extra £30 for the baggage each, I haven't seen fares like this for a long time. It nearly makes up for the fall in value of the pound for us.
Did not notice that you had to pay £30 to check in your suitcase.

Still very cheap though Barbara [msnsmile2]
When our neighbours flew with them recently from Gatwick to Sanford they didn't have to pay for their cases.
Another - and nor did I last time I flew with Thompson/First Choice just a few short weeks ago. But now its an additional charge tacked on when you book on the website, unless your neighbours know some way around it in which case I hope you will ask them and post your result on here for all our benefit.
I forgot to mention I just looked on their website and Thomas Cook are also (coincidentally????) now charging £30 for a bag on their own Fl flights booked online.
But their base price was considerably more, and they even charged £17 for the in flight meals per person which Thompson include without extra charge.
Is this a recent change? I have booked online last September with Thomas cook and have not been charged extra for bags-I just checked to make sure on the paperwork.

We went to Spain with THOMAS COOK a couple of weeks ago and we were charged £16 .00 each person and any over weight was £11 .00 per kilo .
You had to click the charge online before you proceeded .
So THOMAS COOK are charging for bags ,Do not know about FLORIDA route .

Just went online to both First Choice and Thomson websites and there is no availability shown for any Florida flights, even a few weeks in the future, gave up and did not look any further.
Have they cancelled them? Surely they can't ALL suddenly be full? They were all there available yesterday.
maybe - and this is pure supposition - they are using the planes to evacuate people from Mexico? But then what about the returning folk from Florida?
I can't make any sense of it, maybe its just a website malfunction?

There are a lot of last minute bookings at the moment, ticket sales are overhwelming (and very welcome). For the first time ever we have been receiving bulk deliveries on a daily basis. Also 120% booked for sat nav rental in May so had to buy some stock, normally we are around 45% for May [msnsmile]

It must have been a website malfunction, the flights LGW to Orlando Sanford for 2nd May for 14 days are back and available at £143.96 - plus the £30 if you have to check a bag.
Glad to hear florida4sun is doing good business though of course!
Still availability for tomorrow mornings Gatwick - Sanford flight on FirstChoice - and now £133.96. I am resisting the temptation as there is still no rain where I live in Fl so no point sodding my bare sand.
