Deposit for car - Currency ?

Can you only make a deposit and full payment in British Pounds? I have never purchased anything in this currency. Will there just be a conversion done on the US credit card?

Yes, payment is always in UK Pounds Sterling. This will be converted to US Dollars by your card company at whatever rate they have at the time of the transaction. At present there are about $1.4 to £1.
