Subject: RENTAL ENQUIRY

Hi,

My name is Kevin Cueva and I am a London based travel agent.I am in need of a parking space for my newly purchased car for a two months duration.I got your information through the internet and decided to contact you to see if I could get the required assistance I would need from you.I will also like to inform you that I have purchased this car through a company that was supposed to pay for the parking prior shipping but because of some cancellation which we have made, they will be refunding me some money back which I intend using to pay for this parking space till when I will be ready to ship it to UK.

I and my family will be in the United States by February 27 to attend the 18th Annual New Orleans Spring RV & Camping Show.(Pls note that I am aware that your location is not in the Kenner, LA (USA) but I have decided to contact you because of my plans to fly down to New Orleans with my family during the event)

I would like to know the monthly rate for the parking space for the car and if there is any other fee I will need to pay.I also intend hiring driver that will drive us during our stay hence will need you to pay the driver with part of the funds which you are going to receive from the refund company on my behalf.

Actually I would have loved to collect this refund payment from the company and make the different payments myself but being that I'm located in the UK,it will take me longer time to clear the cashier's check which they will pay me with.I have tried to see if I could sought out this issue with the company but the manager disclosed to me that their accepted mode of refund payment as their company policy may have it is through cashier's check drawn from a United States bank.I have made inquiries from my bank as regards this and discovered that it won't clear before my vacation trip. They rather told me that it will take several months to clear being out of state check.

As I have stated earlier,I have budgeted this funds for payment of the parking space for my car prior to shipping, hire driver that will drive us during our stay as well as handle the shipping expenses to UK after our stay. In order to expedite the process,I will need your assistance being that you are a U.S resident in receiving the funds from the company on my behalf.I have tried to see if they could wire the funds directly to my bank account so I can pay the different parties but all to null avail. If I collect this check from them it will delay my trip because my bank won't clear it in a timely manner.I am also willing to negotiate commission with you for this extra services so do let me know if you will like to move ahead with the transaction in which I have explained by providing the following

1.Your name
2.Your physical address
3.Your phone number
4.The rental cost for your parking space for two months duration
5. Your commission for the extra request
Otherwise advise me so that I may seek another renter.

Pls note that I will also need accommodation on where to stay with my family during my vacation and will like to know if you have any availability for us.The accommodation will be only for me,my wife and daughter(ie three of us) for four weeks only.We are non smokers and also have no pets.I do not have much preference on the nature of the unit or location but would want it be furnished and below the total cost of $3,000 for four weeks.

In summary, what I will need from you is a parking space for my car (2007 mid travel manx) for two months duration and accommodation for me and my family for four weeks duraion. So if you can only assist me with the parking space for my vehicle, please do respond and if you can only assist in finding accommodation for us,also respond by letting me know availability dates and rental cost. But in a situation where you can assist with both request,I will sincerely appreciate it hence in any case would a expect a response from you with your information.

Pls reply to [edited].
Thanks,Kevin.

Well, this is a new slant on an old twist. I do not think driving a sand buggy from Florida to Kenner is likely to happen. Cannot imagine him driving it round the streets of London either. I suppose if anyone wants to engage him you could play along and offer to drive his car as it is an unusual vehicle.

Now that is one I've not seen before.

I'm always way to busy nowadays spending the billions I made helping people from different countries claim their US funds locked up in some US bank... :D:D

What a refreshing change, a scammer that has spent minutes writing their request. Well thought out, not bad grammar, very polite and precise ..... bless [}:)]

As soon as someone mentions that you will need to make payment from the funds sent to you then you can be sure it is not genuine.

Even if it were a genuine you would have to be very careful that you were doing nothing illegal, for instance you wouldnt know if the car was stolen and they just wanted to hide it for a while before moving it etc.

And whowould insure it on your premises? Not thought out well enough- a Travel Agent would not be asking for a rental anyway :)

I could make the payment from the $300,000.000 that I inherited from my long lost uncle in South Africa!!:D

I hope everyone understands that I only posted it as a 'joke'. Maybe it should be in the joke postings. This guy really put some thought behind it!

How many of those do I get every week (I own a B&B), they always seem to add a new twist: I guess they need to, people are becoming wiser. If only 1 out of ten was true I would be booked full for the next 10 years, and would be going to Florida more often :D.
Oh, and...anybody knows what happened to the poor kid whose Dad (premier secretary of some ministry) was killed by the rebels in Abidjan, fortunately not before managing to stash millions away on a Swiss bank account... did she ever get out of the country ? [stupid2]
