I've booked Gold but my sister inlaw may now be coming with us and she and her husband would both like to drive.
With Alamo do they have to select the Gold option to have 2 drivers?
What else extra do you get with Gold? Free Tank of Petrol?

Alamo gold includes 4 drivers. Selecting between gold and silver depends on if you want multiple drivers as well as how long you intend to hire the car, anything really over 2 to 3 weeks silver option is cheaper, so you just pay for the tank of gas or return the car full with some suppliers. Not all the suppliers have the option of another driver when you pick the Silver option. I think Dollar has 2 drivers as standard on the silver, but Alamo only have one driver.
Alamo have 2 drivers (as do Dollar and Budget) on the Silver option. Thrifty only have 1 driver on Silver.

Roger
I don't know how long they've been there but I like the enhanced booking system on the car rental site.
Can I point out what looks like an inconsistency on the Homepage? As you've pointed out above, Thrifty don't allow more than a main driver on the Silver option. In the 3rd paragraph of the text on the Homepage it says "The Silver inclusive rate includes just 2 drivers whereas the Gold .....". It seems to refer to all rentals and, to me, it doesn't make it clear that isn't the case with Thrifty.
I realise that when you select Thrifty it does say '1 driver' in the small print but do you think there is a danger that somebody might slip up? (To be honest, I nearly did![msnembarrased])

Booking my car for next month this weekend through this site as usual.
I've never noticed this before but if you use the link above it takes you a different homepage (floridahire.com) than when you enter www.uscarhire.co.uk. in your browser. In the latter, the point about Thrifty is clarified but the link page still has the old statement about 2 drivers.
I assume they're both the same company?
Yes, our main site is www.uscarhire.co.uk but both are ours.

Thought so - thanks Roger.
I've also noticed an inconsistancy on the website, it mentions in the the information for the hire type '2 Drivers with Dollar and Budget, 1 Driver with Thrifty' there is no mention of Alamo.
Also on the front page it states '2 Drivers as standard with Dollar and Budget on our Silver Option', again no mention of Alamo.
I know it mentions 'Silver Inclusive Weekly Car Rental Prices
Including 2 drivers and NO Hidden Extras' so it can be a bit misleading.
Alamo also includes 2 drivers on Silver, and we no longer supply Thrifty so all our suppliers do include 2 drivers on Silver.
