I have a green card, does anyone know if I still need to fill out an ESTA?

my understanding is it replaces the green visa waver form, do you have to complete one of those or the white (with visa) form when you arrive in the US?

When I had a green card I'd just fill out a landing card on the aircraft and go through with the US residents and citizens.

Hi
You need to get travel authorisation via the ESTA website, the latest you can do this is 72hours before traveling
https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/.
You will probably still need to fill in the 'green' visa waiver card as well until the US homeland security have the new system fully up and running.
The Blue and white card is the customs declaration and still needs to be completed before landing.
Hope this helps

But doesn't a green card make him a resident, therefore he doesn't need any visa?

Correct. ESTA replaces the visa waiver scheme. If you didn't need to use visa waiver, you don't need ESTA.

Thanks for all of the replies. The airline told me that I still needed the green waiver form filled out. When I got to immigration, they promptly tore up the waiver as soon as they saw my green card. Said that the airline didn't know what they were talking about!

We had a great time, now just busy trying to save pennies for the next trip!

Thanks again,
Sarah
