Crescent Lakes

Hi

We have booked to stay at Cresent Lakes this year. Having been to Florida many times we know our way around fairly well, but Crescent Lakes is a bit further out than we usually stay.

Can anyone advise how long it takes to drive up to 192/535 etc as we will be doing this on a daily basis. Any short cuts we should know about?? We will not be visiting Disney this time, but will be going to IoA, Sea World etc.

Any advice would be great :D

Crescent lakes is lovely so I'm sure you'll have a great time there, I can't help with shortcuts but I'm sure a CL owner will be along shortly to fill you in - I just went onto google maps and it's about 8 miles from Crescent lakes to the 192, and a very straight run so I guess it depends how fast you drive[msnwink]

Crescent Lakes is very convenient and is within 15 mins drive of Disney and you don't need the 192 to get to IoA.

It's a beautiful community set within a huge officially designated wildlife conservation area and is well laid out with lots of space and community areas including two tot lots (kiddy play areas), basketball court, football pitch, BBQ area (with BBQs supplied) and a picnic area. All the homes are within small individual sub communities named after flowers or plants, many with lake or conservation views.

There are lots of local restaurants, two Wal-Marts, two Publix, a Winn Dixie and local stores within a few minutes drive.

We have three routes to the Disney area (but your individual home owner may have others).

1 At the main entrance to Crescent Lakes, TURN LEFT onto SOUTH POINCIANA BLVD
Continue on this road, past Poinciana High School and McLane Suneast (both on left) to traffic light junction
TURN LEFT (west) onto Highway 17/92
Continue through INTERCESSION CITY and a sharp left bend. TURN RIGHT immediately onto Highway 532
On Highway 532, continue to INTERSTATE ROUTE 4 and TURN RIGHT (east)
On INTERSTATE 4 continue to Walt Disney World SIGNS to the appropriate Park
FOR SEA WORLD Continue on I4 & leave at exit 27A (new junction number 71)
FOR UNIVERSAL STUDIOS Continue on I4 & leave at exit 30 (new junction number 75A)
FOR WET 'N' WILD Continue on I4 & leave at exit 30A (new junction number 75A)
FOR PRIME OUTLETS STORES (used to be BELZ) Follow directions for Universal Studios above and follow this until you reach INTERNATIONAL DRIVE and turn LEFT

2 Turn left out of Crescent Lakes main entrance onto SOUTH POINCIANA BOULEVARD
At the traffic light junction with the 17/92, continue STRAIGHT
At the traffic light junction with the 192 continue STRAIGHT
At the traffic light junction turn LEFT onto VINELAND RD/535 N
Continue to follow 535 N
Turn LEFT onto WORLD CENTER DRIVE
Follow signs to appropriate park

3 At the main entrance to Crescent Lakes turn LEFT onto SOUTH POINCIANA BLVD
Continue on this road, past Poinciana High School and McLane Suneast (both on left) to traffic light junction
At the traffic light junction with Highway 17/92, continue STRAIGHT onto POINCIANA BLVD
Continue on POINCIANA BLVD until you reach the traffic light junction at Highway 192 (Vine Street)
TURN LEFT onto Highway 192 and continue on this road
You will see signs to Walt Disney World, just past Highway 192 guide marker 7, to World Center Drive and you need to follow these signs to the appropriate Park

Hi Karen

I think it's worth the extra 5-10 minutes. Just discusing it with Mrs T; when we booked it a few years ago we had the same thoughts as you. Having been there, we thought it was one of the nicer developments (MrsT reckons it's the best one we've stayed in - we've been in very many of them) and the extra few minutes in the car wasn't really that noticeable.

If we were going back to Orlando, we would book Crescent Lakes happily.

We have driven up and down many times to visit friends (owner on here) and its a lovely long straight road to drive down and doesnt take long at all especially after the first trip... we have stayed at Terra Verde on many ocassions so have driven down the 192 from oren brown road.... so from crescent lakes to oren brown road or straight up to the 192 is just minutes.... enjoy.... crescent lakes ais a lovely spacious community!! some really great looking houses there!!
