Just heard on the news, Hope to visit your country in the future, and hope everything goes well for you in your term of office :D
Why, thank you. I'm looking forward to the new job. Feel free to visit next time you're in town.
You might be able to help with one or two things, for instance I am buying a puppy for the kids and we can't decide on a name. I suggested Sarah, but on second thoughts...
Guess this thread will get locked at some point but before it does I have to say what has happened is truly inspirational, momentous and a real point in history that many many will remember for a long time.
Congrats indeed...

Only if it starts getting personal or turns into a bun fight. For me I think any change is wonderful but this new guy is inheriting a huge pile of doo doo to sift through.

My daughter was mad that she could not vote! She turns 18 in December, and is at college and most of them are able to vote. :(

That's a good point Maureen - I don't think the scrutiny they will come under can even be imagined.

I think this was an amazing victory, in my view the american people got it wrong last time...but this time........ Barack really is an inspiration[clap]
You know what, he could even be as good a President as Bartlett[msnwink]

I voted for Senator Obama. It really wasn't a vote for him, rather a vote against Senator McCain and Gov. Palin. And I gotta tell you it was one of the hardest decisions I've ever made. But I think I did the right thing.
Anyway, my worry is that everyone now thinks he's the second coming! He's an unproven junior senator from Chicago. He's not going to miraculously bring peace and prosperity to America. And I don't see much real change. Except for all that free healthcare he promised us! Remember, Obama can't change anything. Congress changes stuff. Any most of the members are the same stuffy Washington elitists that have been there for ages!
But I do think Bush and Cheney need to go.
Bartlett is America's greatest president. And Josh is Amy's sweetheart!
I also think that it's probably the best result for the US, and he does seem an inspirational man, but I also take Jeff's comments on board. He is a young Senator, and as yet, pretty much untested......... My only fear is that he reminds me of Tony Blair when he first started out.
Let's all hope that Obama is as great as the hype!
