My kids love the Golden Coral breakfast buffet however we much prefer Perkins (but its not a buffet)
We used to like Ponderosa as it was the only one that had oatmeal (porridge).

We like Golden Corral aa well and had fressh oatmeal there. Like the omelettes it was made to order, it may depend on which location youu use and how accommodating the chef is.

Bob Evans also do good breakfasts, not buffet but as cheap as the buffet places. There are loads of Bob Evans dotted around so I am sure wherever you stay you will be near one.

How often do you plan on doing a buffet breakfast?
As an occassional treat have you considered doing one of Disneys Character breakfasts. These are mostly all buffet style with great atmosphere, characters visiting your tables for photo's etc, good food and a chance to see inside some of the amazing hotels and restaraunts that Disney have.
We had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian last time we went and were awe struck at the size of the place when you walk into the foyer. Characters there included Tigger, Pooh, Alice, Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins.

We have only ever done a character breakfast for a buffet style breakfast, and are favourite was 1900 Park Fare, real value for money, it was fabulous and as kenny says, you get a nice peak inside a Disney resort , adds another dimension to your holiday:) We tend most days to go for fruit or Bran flakes and an Orange juice where we stay, mainly because we know just how many lovely meals we will encounter the rest of the day, so like to leave plenty of space [msnwink]
Not sure where you are staying but the Sunday morning buffet breakfast at Southern Dunes is very good, you have to get there fairly early as it is very popular.

to be honest we havn't stopped in a villa yet (been 3 times) so havn't had the cooking facilities next time we will hence the reason for the breakfasts out all the time would a 2 and a half year old like a character breakfast?
Jason, if you are planning a character breakfast you need to book it well in advance as they are very popular. Kids and adults of any age will love it. It's also a great way of ensuring you actually get to meet all the characters rather than hoping you'll bump into them around the Parks.
Once you stay in a villa you will never want to stay in a hotel again [msnwink]
I'll second that. Stayed in a villa for the first time in 2006 when our son was 7 months old. Is so totally different to being in a hotel. Feels far more relaxed and I think is a better option when you have little ones.
Since we starting opting for villas we found that we're quite happy to have breakfast indoors in the morning with a nice cup of coffee. Our son loves his cereal so its nice to be able to just relax as a family and not feel like we're rushing.
As for character breakfasts - it'll go down a treat with all of you. Have been to character breakfast @ Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare and Chef Mickey and the latter was by far my favourite. Our son who was 20 months when we went in Feb this year loved meeting the characters when we took him to the Crystal Palace and we've already booked Chef Mickey for this year (going in 3 weeks) as he's mad about Mickey. Go for it!

how and where do i book a character breakfast?
sorry having a dumb moment :D
Best breakfast (non buffet) was Market Street Cafe in Celebration. Best buffet breakfast for us was at Golden Corral.

I have a link to a site that provides a spreadsheet which includes all the character dining experiences, advance dinner reservations (ADR's) and the numbers you need to call. All you need to do is input the date you wish to dine on and it will work out the earliest date that you can ring. As someone says they tend to sell out early but we managed to book about 4 for our trip in Feb without any problems.
I can't post the link here but if you want it then DM me.
