Having just returned from a holiday in Orlando with friends and wanted a day out with a difference so we visited Mt.Dora.
Mt.Dora is a small town North of Orlando up the US27. We were delighted with the town, full of lovely small individual shops, including antique shops, quality restaurants with outside areas where you can just sit and enjoy a glass of wine or a coffee and watch the world go bye.
Mt Dora also reminded me of the small towns of New England.
Well worth a visit if you want a day out away from the parks.

We have been Val and enjoy it as it is away from the theme parks as as you say like old England we have been to a cafe it is a french owned and the snacks or meals are good ,Also there is a caffee that does tea and scones and cream cakes just like the ones in UK .

There is a nice ice cream shop there and there is also a park, with lovely woodland walks starting off across a wooden walkway across the lake.

We loved Mount Dora when we visited.

Had an ice-cream sitting in a rocking chair on a verandah at the Lakeside Hotel where the then President of the the United States stayed in 1930.
