Any Pink Floyd fans out there?

I've been working round the clock the past couple of weeks and got home tonight, discovered there was some Pink Floyd stuff on the box and settled down to watch.

I've now just discovered that Rick Wright died about 10 days ago. I'm simply gutted; he wrote many of my favourite tracks - The Great Gig in the Sky; Shine on you Crazy Diamond, etc.

Pink Floyd have been part of my life for about 35 years. I can't believe I'm only hearing this news now. Off to put on Dark Side of the Moon and drink a toast to him.

I used to work with Albert Prior - I think it was Pink Floyd he used to play with.

He'd had cancer for some time. There seems to have been a deliberate strategy to keep the news quiet although there were obituaries in the broadsheets the following day. I'm wondering if Mr Waters will be invited to the funeral.

This very sad news has finally put paid to any chances of the rumoured return to touring.

BTW Tonish - next time you're on Captiva, tune the car radio to Classic Rock FM. Lots of Floyd on there. I drove along San-Cap road last night accompanied by the full version of 'Comfortably Numb'.

I note that Australian Pink Floyd are playing at Hard Rock Cafe on 27/10, I will miss this date by a week. Apparently they are very good.
