Can you put up flyers on lamposts etc. Somebody may have taken her in not realising that she has a loving home. If you could print off a flyer with her photo and a contact number you will have a lot of people keeping an eye out. Might be worth a try - I hope you find her soon

Your Daughters cat is very old I would think the cat will be somewhere very close to home.
Unless is very active and proned to wandering off.
Is there a chance a neighbour or someone close by could has taken the cat into their home?
Has the cat a name and address on it's collar?. You could put some posters up in the area where your Daughter lives.
Do you have any neighbours who have just gone on holiday and maybe the cat is stuck in a shed or garage? This happened to ours and she returned 2 weeks later!

Carol, it is hard to say this but I had to when I worked as a volunteer for our local RSPCA but often old cats would just wander off to curl up and go to sleep permantly. It is just nature's way.
However as others have said do all the other things and ask all your neighbours to check their sheds and garages and even cars as they can jump in an open door.
Thankyou all for your advice
We are doing everything we can
The only worry we have as to whether a fox has had her
She went out at 10pm after having a bowl of prawns her favourite
Usually comes back through the cat flap
As she is deaf she would not hear anything coming up behind her
Hope you are right Jill & she has gone to sleep somewhere

Carol, if it is of any comfort foxes very rarely attack cats.

Hi Carole,
I am glad that jill had the courage to say that, I know that is what exactly what happened to my Dad's twenty year old cat. he never came back. I hope that all turns out for you OK. The Vet said that is what cat's do.
Finger's crossed.

Unfortunately this is what they do and it happened to three of our cats over the years. However, they didn't go far and found somewhere to curl up and go for a permanent sleep. All three were between 17 and 19 years of age. Try checking under bushes or in places where your cat can hide both in and outside the house.

Carol ,
Sorry to hear about your cat , as a cat owner I can understand your concern.
I know your cat is a great age but they do become part of your family , what ever the outcome my thoughts are with you and your family .

Unfortunately we believe the same happened to our 19 year old cat
She disappeared one morning never to be seen again. We did look at all her usual haunts day after day,but never found her
I wasn't as brave as Jill to say this could be the reason your daughter's cat had gone missing.
Its the not knowing that is the biggest concern, even seven years later we still don't know what really did happen.

It is something I never got used to saying when people used to speak to me at the RSPCA as I used to feel their pain everytime someone used to ring up saying they had a missing pet. I know we would be desolate if our dog went missing. More than once I have ended up in tears while talking to people so it is no as easy as I made it sound.
Still no sign of the cat Have put up posters to no avail Have put it in the lost section of the local paper that comes out on Wed
As each day goes by Sharon gets more upset
Still hoping someone has got her
Carol
I hope you find her soon:) she probably hasn't gone far and could be locked in a garage/shed so it's worth knocking on a few doors.
