I am going to Canada on Business 27/9/08 - 3/10/08 inclusive

My 10 year Passport runs out 16/10/08

Will I need to replace it before the trip??

I am away to visit my Mum in Ireland next week for 2 weeks so cant really send it away now

Can I apply for a new one and still use the old one??

If not other than actually going to the Peterborough office what is the quickest way to get a new one???

Cheers in advance for your help

Sorry I cannot help further but you definately cannot use your old one while you wait for you new one as you have to send your old one off when renewing.

We needed to renew our passports just before the recent strike and we got our new ones in less than 14 days, so you may be ok to apply for your new one after visiting your Mum

Had the following reply from Canada House this morning so panic over

Thank you for your e-mail.

Please be advised that your passport need only be valid for the duration
of your stay in Canada. Should your passport validity be very short,
you will need to leave Canada at least one day before it expires.
