Budget pick up at Miami International

We fly into Miami next month and are using Budget for the first time and just want to check procedures before we go - after checking their website which states "there is a rental counter on airport with a shuttle to the car lot".

Do you go to the rental counter on airport and sort out the paperwork first and then catch the shuttle for the car or is it like Dollar which we used a couple of years ago and you just catch a bus to the off site compound and sort everything out when there ?

I haven't specifically used Budget at Miami International but the usual procedure is that you can do either. If you do it at the airport counter, you'll just go straight to your car at the depot. I've never found that there's much gained by using the airport terminal counters but if there's no queue there, you might save a bit of time at the depot.

I do rent at Miami fairly often and haven't ever encountered the awful lines you can get at Orlando International either at the depots or within the terminal.
