swimming with the Manatees

Hi
We have just come back from 16 fantastic nights in Orlando.
I am now planning next years trip.
We are thinking of going in March, because we want to spend about 4 days at Crystal river and hopefully see some Manatees.
Has anyone got any advice on where to stay?
We would really love to stay somewhere close to where we will be able to see the Manatees, although we will probably book a tour as well.

Hi Ellie, We stayed at The Plantation Golf Resort & Spa Crystal River [website link edited] just had to stroll out of our room and onto the boat the next morning. It is the most amazing experience.

We stayed at riversideresort homossassa. Went swimming with manatees on the 6am trip with mike's sunshine tours. Much better than going at 9am where there are too many people. I had one manatee who took a liking to me and kept kissing me (snuffling in my face!) and cuddling me with both fins. It was awesome. The boat went from within the resort. You got back to the room in time to have a shower before checkout time.
