Thought I would start a new topic for this as the old one was deleted.
It's a real shame that Julie won't be with us anymore as she has helped most of us very much with this[msnsad]
Just like to wish Paula good luck with weigh in today.[msnsmile2]
Well done Pamela, I was going to do the same later today.
Does it now mean that we will have to get all the recipes etc. that we have given each other, posted again, or is their a way of retrieving them?
Good luck everyone with your weigh in's, I have managed to increase to half a stone above my goal weight which I achieved around Jan/Feb[msncry][msncry][msncry]and have no motivation whatsoever. Having felt ill for 3 weeks now, that possibly isn't helping, plus all the Rotary dinners I am attending - another one tonight[msnoo]
Off to Majorca for a quick break in the sun, before going to Florida in 27 days time[clap][clap]

I'm afraid it's the latter. Believe me, if there was an easy way of getting the old thread back I'd have done it by now [msnsad]. I was really annoyed with myself for clicking the wrong button yesterday and deleting the thread rather than locking it so you can start a fresh thread.
The only way of doing it involves a lot of work restoring the whole database and then extracting the thread from that and importing it into the current database. This would affect the operation of all our sites and is not something we can realistically consider I'm afraid.

Did debate joining part 5 but as I have spent half the afternoon making Tablet and Cinder Toffee probably best not[msneek]
Thought that might be the case John, thank you for confirming it so we know what we need to do.
Got my days wrong and it is only 24 to go so feel a bit more cheerful[msnsmile2]
Sandra
Well done Pamela for starting a new thread [clap][clap][clap]
Hope everyone is having a good day. I managed to gain 1 1/2 lbs this week. I didn't weigh in last week so not sure when the damage was done but hoping to have a better week and get back on plan.
Sandra hope you have a good time tonight - it is really hard for you at the moment with all these dinners and not being well too. I'm sure your motivation will come back when you feel better and the dinners slow done a bit [msnwink]

Think the time has probably come for me to leave this thread too [msnsad] although I hope the "being good to myself" will continue [msnwink]
Hope everyone will reach their goals and keep up their healthy eating plans [msnsmile2]
Come on ladies, we must go forward. Things happen in life and we must make the best of them.
Just imagine a Charity Organisation started by someone who had to leave for one reason or another, would you stop donating??
You have both been inspirational on this thread and helped us all, surely you are not deserting us now when we need you?
I feel very saddened if you decide to leave, but the rest of us will just have to be positive and continue the good work started on these threads. There are far worse things happening in the world and whilst I understand why you are leaving, I ask you both to rethink.

It isn't the same and wont ever be the same around here without two long standing contributors to this thread so I am sad to say I am bowing out too [msnsad]
Thanks to everyone for all the support you have all given me over the last 14 months and I wish everyone my best wishes on reaching your individual goals [msnsmile] take care all

Did not have a good dinner last night!!! Intentions went out of the window when I was given a choice of fresh fruit salad or Baileys Cheesecake with clotted cream[stupid2] I then felt sick[sick]
Will try to be good today as I am not going anywhere, just packing for my trip to Majorca on Saturday[clap]

Had a good few days after a bad weekend !!! Hoping to at least maintain at weigh in tonight
I have always meant to read this thread, but it has always been so long it put me off, so I would love to join in, but not sure what you are meant to do?? (Apart from try to loose weight [msnwink])
Welcome to the thread Karen [msnsmile] It's good to have you aboard!!
Yes, we aim to lose weight and encouraged others too! So, we post food diaries, receipes, hints and tips etc. Some of us belong to Slimming World so we follow a diet plan /healthy eating plan. If you need help with anything ask away!!
Thanks Frances. I go to the gym 3 times a week, but still struggle to loose weight [msnsad] I am trying the old cut out the fat from diet routine as it did work once before. I just had a ryvita with tomatoe, cucumber and prawns. Would have prefered low fat cheese as well, but cheese is my down fall as I do love it!
Welcome Karen to this thread. We try to encourage each other with different ideas and sometimes recipes, and we have our high's and lows. Mine is a low at the minute as I have gained half a stone since reaching my target weight in January[msncry]
Sadly, the days for the gym are gone. My philosophy is if I never started, my body won't miss it[msnwink]

Well, we shall miss those who are not participating any longer for reasons known to themselves. Thankfully this topic will continue as people come and leave. I have been "in & Out" of this thread for some time - reading, so I guess I shall have to be more active posting from now on.
In July I shall be taking part in the Race for Life in aid of cancer research. Far from fit I have to work at getting into shape = more excercise and a better diet.
First thing to be doing is cut out all the rubbish food and get regular eating patterns.

Take a look at the Slimming World web site it's a really easy to follow plan and you never need to be hungry. You can download a 7 day menu to get you started if you like the look of it. Basically there are green and original days.
Good luck with however you choose to do it. I'm off to class now and hoping for a loss [msnsmile2]
Good luck with your Race for Life Linda I was thinking of doing this but that's as far as I got maybe next year as in Norwich it's taking place this weekend.<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by Fourdents

I would like to join this thread if thats ok? Like Karen I have often read the other posts and like the idea of everyone encouraging each other. I'm 47 and my weight has only started to be a problem for me in the last couple of years (middle age spread?)[msnwink]
Anyway I've got to the point where I am now DETERMINED to lose at least a stone and I need to acheive this by the time we go on our hols (23rd August)
I look forward to joining in
Margaret
I hope this is a useful bit of info ...
I've just swapped my gym membership, from being a member of Virgin Active to being a member of, errrrr, Virgin Active. However I'm now a member of Virgin Active through PruHealth, my healthcare insurance provider.
It works like this ... the usual membership costs are £40-ish a month (reasonably typical for a good gym). Through PruHealth, if I go on average twice a week or more, which I do, the cost drops to £5 a month. Yep! That's a fiver a month; or sixty quid a year. Amazing huh??!?
It gets better still ...
Each time I swipe in to the gym it allocates Vitality Points. They're a bit like Nectar points, or any other loyalty scheme I guess. At the end of the year, if I haven't claimed on the health insurance all these Vitality Points could translate to a cashback reward against the healthcover. The max is £350, and this isn't hugely more than the cost of the health cover. To me it works out pretty much as a free gym membership and a discount against health insurance. I get more, and pay less ... just for trying to stay healthy!
We also checked out Boots' health insurance and they do a similar scheme.
So anyone with health cover who also has a gym membership, do give your insurers a call and over a year it might save you about the equivalent of a flight to Florida!!!
So all that said, my target for the coming months must be to train more and get beyond 'Average' on the Concept 2 4-minute O'Neil Fitness Test.
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how healthy, or un-healthy, are French bread pizzas? If you make them with baguette (is this healthy or un-healthy), pasta sauce (reasonably healthy), ham (pretty healthy) and cheese (ahem - OK - there has to be some concessions!!)

Having been a shy and silent but dedicated follower of this thread for a long time I felt now was the time to join in and carry on the encouragement to all who are attempting to lose weight and be "good to themselves." The loss of the main contributors should not prevent all us other ladies (and gents) carrying on the good work that they started and I am sure that this thread will go from strength to strength. There already seems to be some new faces appearing so onwards and upwards.
Welcome Patricia and Margaret, good to have you aboard and thank you for the info Steve.
Not sure about the baguette pizza (though it sounds yummy!!), white bread, especially rolls/baguettes are not that good !!
However with all the time youare going to be spending at the gym you will probably burn it all off [msnwink]
As I started this topic (originally called OV slimming club)http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/topic_17136.asp I would hate to see an end to it.
Altough I have not been joining in for a while I would like to say that it was a great help to me having other people encourage me. I lost 1.5lb off 4 stone. Sadly a lot of it has gone back on again so maybe it's time to rejoin.
It's lovely to see some new names on here, so keep it up and I do following the thread even though I have not been taking part.

It's great to see so many new people checking in.......welcome to you all.
I went to class last night and had a 2lb weight loss, total so far 22.5lbs. I am following SW and finding it so easy.
Someone in the group brought a syn free recipe for sweet and sour sauce which I had for my tea tonight and it was really yummy, I added quorn as I'm on a green day and I like plenty of rice.
It is free on both red and green days.
The recipe for anyone who is interested.
1 garlic clove
6 spring onions
1/2 red pepper
3oz fresh pineapple
1/2 pint of passata
4 floz white wine vinegar
2 tbsp light soy sauce
5 tbsp artificial sweetener
Peel and crush the garlic, trim and finely chop the onions, deseed and finely chop red pepper and finely chop pineapple
Add all in the pan together (apart from pineapple) with 3 floz water and bring to the boil.
Reduce the heat and gently simmer for 12 - 15 mins until slightly reduced
Remove from heat and add pineapple.
I added quorn pieces to it but in future I think I'll stick to lots of crispy vegetables, I like quorn mince but not too fussed on the texture of the pieces.
This was a much nicer sauce than any I've had out of a jar and it was almost as good as the local chippies.

Hi all, welcome to the newbies and welcome back the oldies! Steve I assume you are taking the proverbial?
One month today till my trip with the gals to Florida so need to get back into gear. Have been indulging myself post-op when I get tired in the afternoon and need to replace biscuits, cake and chocolates with fruit! And more walking - if it would stop persisting down every evening could get out with the younger dog on a regular basis which would improve things!
I need to join this thread too as I have a stone or two to lose and zero willpower at the moment:(No time to do a long post tonight. Hopefully tomorrow will pan out better. See you all soon:)

Welcome back Sally and good luck for getting back on track.
Well done Paula on your loss [clap][clap][clap] and thanks for posting the recipe!
I lost 2 1bs last night so that's 26 1bs since rejoining SW in February and 32 1bs in total I'm feeling really pleased with myself at the moment as this is the best I have ever done on a diet. Got quite a few more stones to lose though so it's going to take a long time[msneek]
Have a great day everybody!
Thank you all for your comments.
I lost 3 stone by myself doing a low fat diet but came to a standstill so joined slimming world and found it great, being able to eat lots and nothing is off limits.
I also found that I had to plan in advance my meals so once a week I wrote my meals down and shopped accordingly. I had to have some kind of chocolate everyday so used my sins this way, I don't drink so that part was easy. I hardest part for me was bread, I love sandwiches, toast etc but I changed to making pasta to take to work for lunch.
The whole family ate the same as me and we saw great results. We all agreed it was very easy and I am now determined to get back on track with the summer just round the corner and a holiday to The Algarve booked in August.

Well I joined Slimming World a few weeks ago but probably not at the best time as I am now out in Spain for the summer looking after the villas that we have here, but I have brought out all my Slimming World books and menu plans and hopefully will stay on track. I do a lot more walking when I am out here and the fruit and vegetables from the local market are superb. When we visit local restaurants I am usually pretty good and order salad and fish but my downfall is the basket of soft crusty bread and alioli!!

i need to remember im trying to eat more healthier... i think for me its the picking which has stopped as of today....i must admit i dont pick as much as i did, i just dont find the time.... to do anything in some kind of routine which is the only way i can try to help myself..... will cut down my meals and give it my best!!!!
Hi Ruth and welcome to the thread [msnsmile2] It's good to have you join us and I hope you can find the willpower now to shed a few lbs.
Sally, I know what you mean about bread [msnsad] it is my biggest downfall. I can resist chocolate more than I can resist bread!
Well done Pamela [clap][clap][clap] You are doing great!
I feel very inspired at the moment with all these new 'members' on board!!
Hope everyone has a great day.
I have had brekkie already today
2 quorn sausages
2 eggs (fried in fry light)
2 slice nimble wholemeal (HB)
Black coffee

Hi ladies (and gentlemen) can I join in too? I like others have silently followed this thread, but with my Florida holiday looming in August I feel it's time to start seriously slimming.
I have approx two stone to lose, but I would be thrilled with half a stone then another if you get my meaning.
I just bought a Nintendo Wii Fit (naff i know) and I must say that although it's not a workout like a gym class, for people who have done nothing for years it's an excellent way of gently getting into exercise.
Done my exercise for this morning, and taking my Grandson for a long walk later
Sue
Hi Suzy, good to have you on board[msnsmile2]
I found that setting myself small targets was better than the whole lot that I needed to looose. Eeven if it's just a couple of pounds to reach your next target. I would have given up at the beginning thinking I have to drop 4 stone. I used all sort of targets, 3lb to get into the next stone bracket, 2lb to get to 1/2 stone things like that and it was easy. I also kept a diary and every week I wrote down my weight so could look back and see what I weighed this time last month, this time 6 months ago etc. If it helped to spur me on then thats what I did.
I am going to sit down and plan my meals for next week and go shopping tonight after work. Time to look back through old slimming world mags for ideas.
Have a good day.

Pamela, I am so pleased for you as I know you are trying really hard. I wish I could pick up some of your enthusiasm[msnembarrased]
I will post a diary for yesterday and see if that helps me!
Coffee with skimmed milk throughout day.
Porridge
2 Scrambled eggs, folled by ff salad and lf cottage cheese
Spag Bol. Huge portion[msneek] followed by ff salad.
Camomile tea with a pack of Go Ahead Crispy slices. Syns ???
Actually, it does not sound too bad apart from the spag bol.
Will try again today before I get to Majorca and the crusty bread and alioli[clap][clap][clap]
Have a great weekend everyone.

Welcome Sue [msnsmile2] 1/2 stone at a time is a good way forward! It sounds very daunting to say say the total target weight loss so setting small achievable goals is great. I am also trying to lose a lot and so I would like to lose 1/2 stone in the next 6 weeks.

I'm so all over the place with this at the moment, mind you i turned down mcdonalds yesterday....but at 4 caramel cho bickies, well we went to my daughters new flat she moves in today, i took some bickies for us to share as we started to unlaid some of the new stuff they had bought and we had taken bits and pieces from my house all week (they move in today:(its been great having them here for the last 3 months, and got used to having our new baby grandaughter here and watching her grow and change day by day, shes 2 weeks old today) but having said this i have had no time for me.. so many fussy meals to cook it will be nice to get back to just the 4 of us...then i can get back to my healthier eating properly, i get so fed up in the kitchen when trying to sort about 4 different meals every night!!
will go shopping with them later so will pick up something nice for me for a few days..... and some nice fresh fruit and vegetables......
hope all have a good day/weekend:D[high5]

Liesa I also feel joining a group will give you the support you need. I think you posted in the past that you find SW hard to follow, all I will say is give it two weeks.
I have never really stuck to any club I joined whether it was SW or WW, just a couple of weeks then I'd quickly loose my way.......NOT THIS TIME THOUGH.
I have been going to SW classes since the end of January and I'm 22.5lbs lighter than I was back then. I am finding it very easy to follow and enjoy trying out new recipes each week.
Had an OK weekend, we went to the cinema yesterday tehn Pizz Hut afterwards as a treat for the girls and I had.......nothing. I waited until I got home and cooked myself a mushroom omellette, I was dying for a pepperoni pizza though.

Liesa SW is a great plan for men to follow as you never need to be hungry on the plan. If he doesn't want to join I wouldn't worry about going on your own though. I am a quite a shy person and have joined many times on my own before and people are so friendly.
Paula, what a star!! Resisting Pizza Hut you must have a great deal of will power at the moment - keep it up!! Fantastic weight loss. [clap][clap][clap]

Hi folks, I am back again - the break wasn't intentional, just the lack of internet access. My Brighthouse connection has been out since last Friday but is now fixed with new cabling into the villa.
I can't believe how much has happened since my post last week. Not only am I on a new thread we have so many new people - welcome to all those who have joined.[msnsmile]
I am so sorry to hear that some people have also left. Although I haven't been on the thread for very long, their contribution has helped me enormously to get back to where I should be so I would just like to say a very big Thank You, you will be missed [grouphug]
It is lovely being back at the villa but it doesn't help the eating plans. I am trying to continue to eat healthily but the drinks do flow more here and there appear to be so many more temptations, especially the cheesecake [msnsad]
Hi Everyone, hope you are all getting on ok. I have been very busy with work this week so I haven't posted much - and a nother very busy day today so I have just popped in for a quick look!!
Diet not so good but not all bad!! I keep taking the quick option the last few days because I am busy but that also means I don't snack [msnsmile] so hopefully one might out weigh the other - well, we can live in hope!! [msnsmile2]
Hope everyone has a good day. I am going to try to keep a food diary so will post later.
Welcome Margaret and well done on losing. It does not matter if it is 1 lb or 10, it is a loss.
Just arrived back from a lovely villa in Majorca. Managed to stay off the bread until Wednesday, and then that was it. Crusty bread with ali oli.......[msncry][msncry]more crusty bread[msncry][msncry] I am not going to get on the scales until Monday!! I now have 2 more weeks before going to Florida for a month, so need to get some serious salads, fresh fruit etc. Got 2 more black tie do's next weekend, but will cater for those by being careful and just having free foods during the day.
Well done Paula also. Pamela, glad it was only a teeny weeny gain and not what you thought. Brenda, nice to see you are back on line. I think you leave the day after we arrive, so hopefully may see you for a chat if you are around.
Have a good week everyone.

I have just caught up with some of the previous postings - there have been some great weight losses, well done[clap][clap][clap] Try and stay positive, those that haven't[grouphug]
Liese, I would recommend SW if you require support. I was reluctant to go at first but the cajoling by the enthusiasts here helped me take that step and it was worth it. I now have a good idea of how it all works and gels together with my own eating habits and it has given me the confidence to create meal plans that work.
Sandra, glad to hear Majorca was a success and it will be good to see you before we leave.
It is now Wednesday, and I still have not dared to go on the scales. I am totally out of control[msncry][msncry]

nice one Paula
i havent weighed in this week yet...still all over the place with food as taste buds are shot to pieces......so picking a bit here and a bit there....i need to get sorted badly as its only 3 months and 10 days till we go to florida...i want to lose something!!!
i am gonna hold off going to a class of some kind as my daughter Kerrie who just had the baby wants to join one but she still has to wait to do anything she had an emergency c section.....
Morning ladies, sorry for the silence, been busy with my eldest dog who has been v poorly and I had to have put down on Tuesday. Lottie was a lovely dog and was only 10 but all the problems she has has since tearing her cruciate ligament when she was nearly 3 took their toll on her body and although mentally she was as sharp as a button her body was just packing up on her and she could hardly get up and down without one of us lifting her up.
Not been too good with the old diet either, but on Monday went down with a lurgy and the only good thing is I have lost 4½lbs! So that has got me back on track, along with being able to walk the youngest round the National Trust land as we used too - and at a fast lick as well. I can feel the muscles!
Friday evening we went to the Rpyal Windsor Tattoo, it was wonderful and for my mother and I lovely for us to see the Pipes & Drums. We haven't been to one since my father took the salute at Edinburgh Castle in 1979 while he was still serving in the army.
2 weeks on Sunday till ED and I go to Florida so am going to be an [angel] until then!
I am working from home a lot at the moment which is a nightmare as I eat continually (I can reach inside the fridge without even getting off my chair). Any tips as my will power is currently very poor?
LiesaAnna
15-05-2008, 17:30
sorry to hear about your poor dog Fiona xx
Ruth i need plenty of tips meself.....still got cold and chesty cough but food still not tasting right, still eating it tho:D[:P]have been shopping and got some healthier eating stuff for me......
Ruth & Liesa the trick is not to have anything in the fridge unless it is good for you! So pre-sliced carrots and celery go along way with the munchies, along with baby tomatoes, instead of say mini sausage rolls or scotch eggs!
I go round Waitrose like a demon vetoing crisps, chocolate, biscuits and anything with loads of preservatives or E numbers in, my daughters friends are always amazed that there is "nothing to eat" in our house! I have relaxed and allowed basic white bread so they can have marmite or jam on toast - anything else they can bring themselves!
It goes without saying that if I applied this all the time I would be a size 10/12 not rather more generously endowed!![msnwink]
I think they 80/20 rule - be good 80% of the time and carefulish the other 20% you should do ok. I have been tucking into chocolate and biscuits while I have been recovering from my last op and getting so tired needed a sugar boost. I have now switched to eating a banana in the afternoon and having either oat flakes or porridge with fruit for breakfast and allowing myself 1 or 2 glasses of wine (a spritzer) a night and feel alot better for it. Probably doing too much while I was still recovering to be honest but not easy to sit around doing nothing, although sometimes I have a darn good try!
LiesaAnna

Back from class and happy to report 1 lb off. George got a bottle of wine and a certificate for 'man of the year'
2 weeks until we are off to Florida for 3 weeks so want to lose another 4lb before then.
Off for an early night now zzzzzzz.
Fiona, I am so sorry to hear about your dog. I know exactly how you are feeling[grouphug][grouphug]
Thanks for the tips, they make perfect sense. Only one problem, well three actually. Three very active children who need to eat lots and lots[msncry]I am fine when the fridge is empty, but after a Tesco delivery, disaster[msnscared][msncry]We never have anything with artificial ingredients as they make James hyper but there are plenty of foods which fit the "healthy" category in all but calorie content[msneek]
Sorry to hear about your poor dog Fiona[grouphug]
Well, finally decided (thanks to Pamela's posting) to get on the scale this morning. 9 lbs over target weight[msncry][msncry][msncry] but thank you Pamela or I would have just kept eating. Even with all our dinners out, another 2 this weekend, I am not going to eat the bread roll, and tonight I had already ordered FF salad and will just leave the clotted cream. Having melon for starter, and salmon for mains, so quite a healthy meal. I am now back on the wagon I hope!!!!!!

I'm on a mission now 2 weeks until we go to Florida and I want to lose at least another 4 lbs. It was suggested that I should do the free food challenge. Make all meals just free food and just allow max of 5 syns per day - so that's what I'm going to try!

Just throught I would pop in and let you know how I am doing. We were in Florida for just over 3 weeks and returned last Tuesday. I managed to keep my eating in check with not too many binges but did enjoy the cheesecakes, eating out and drinks did flow more than usual. I put on 2lbs but it seems to have disappeared after a couple of days at a health farm on Thursday and yesterday. Back to target weight and now just have to keep checking.
Well done, Paula and Pamela for the weight losses [clap][clap]
Sandra, getting on the scales is a brave step - well done[clap]
Liese and Ruth, I agree with Fiona, it is having healthy snacks that can be picked up easily if you are tempted. I used to prepare a range of snacks and leave them in the fridge. This worked for me as if I didn't, it used to be the odd packet of crisps, bar of chocolate or gooey cakes.

Well done Paula. I am going back when I get home next week, time to get back on the bandwagon, not been doing very well trying to go it alone! Of course doing my back in the first night of my holiday has not helped, but amazingly enough I seem to have lost a couple of pounds, nearly fell of the scales in surprise this morning. Amazing what a diet of strong pain killers can do for you, as it certainly has not been the food diary!

Hi Janice
Thank you very much - will log on now and get some inspiration??? Have good weekend.
Hello everyone
Just discovered this thread and have thoroughly enjoyed reading through it, especially Janice's food diary's as they have given me some great ideas, as I have decided to follow the SW programme.
I want to lose 1/2 stone in total and have lost 1 pound so far in 2 weeks, I don't go to a class but know how the diet works as I have read the website and buy the magazines.
I now work from home so I find it easier to follow as I can cook syn free chips and jacket potatoes.
Off to Florida in 3 weeks so need to keep going and hope to maintain my weight whilst on holiday. My weaknesses are bread, cheese and wine.
Good luck to everyone and I look forward to joining in. I usually weigh myself on a Thursday so will post to let you know how I have got on during the last week.

Welcome Claire, you shouldn't find the bread a problem in Flroida as I think it's awful.
Just got home after 3 weeks away in Florida and I know I've put on at least 5lb. Getting straight back to class tonight though as I'm off to Zante in 7 weeks.

Welcome Claire. You should be ok in florida if you are careful. After 3 weeks there in June I only gained 1 pound. We were careful during the day and had what we wanted for our evening meal but still tried to stay within the rules of SW a bit.
Paula good luck with the weigh in it may not be as much as you think.
Janice hope your decorating is going well.
Personally I am struggling at the moment feeling a bit low so what reaching out for things I sholdn't have. Every day I keep saying must get back on track then I spoil it. So today I MUST STAY ON TRACK!!!!!
Hi Claire,
A warm welcome and congratulations on a one pound wieght loss, you must be delighted. Good luck with your weigh in on Thursday, let us know how it goes.
I seem to have gone off track the last few days as well Pam, although I am still attending Slimming world and haven't put any weight on as yet. Perhaps if we both write a daily dairy it may help us to keep on track?
Welcome back Paula, I know it won't take you long to get back on track.
Here goes Pam.
Breakfast one boiled egg, 2 slices of weight watchers Danish whole meal (HB x1)
Lunch 2 Quorn Sizzling Burgers 2 points with salad.
Milk (HAx1)
I haven't decided on evening meal yet, but will post this evening.
Decorating is going well, hopefully should finish the painting by this evening.

Good idea Janice - I will write mine tonight as so far I have only had an apple [msnsad] and a few cups of tea and no idea what I am having for lunch or dinner - note to myself MUST PLAN MORE!!!!
Have a good day.
Just popping in to say hello everyone.
Still on a round of endless Rotary events and doubt if I will get back to serious SW before next July. I have stayed 10lbs. over my target since January so hope at least that I won't get heavier or all my suits, evening dresses etc. will be too small. Mind you, not got rid of the bigger sizes yet[msnwink]
Good luck to everyone.

Hi Guys
Weighed myself this morning and disappointed that I havn't lost anymore weight, but at least I didn't gain I suppose. I have read that as I only need to lose a small amount that it would come off very slowly. Not sure if that is right.
Any way onwards and upwards.
Hope you are all getting on alright
Claire
Hi all, am back on track, been being good for the past 3 weeks and lost 5 of the 9lbs that seems to have crept on since last summer.
Good for you Fiona.[clap]
Clare, at least you know what you are doing wrong. If you are following SW then your food diary of yesterday would not work, although not an experts. If you are just beginning, then it is so important to stick to the SW plan and believe me it does work, I lost 24 lbs but I hardly ever cheated, if at all. It was hard but I was so determined, and after the Rotary events I am attending for the next 10 months now, I will be back straight on the plan with no cheating until I am back to my target eight which I achieved earlier this year.
Any experts agree - disagree?

Clare it looks to me like you are having too much bread and not enough free food. What are you drinking during to the day?
If you have cereal for breakfast try having a shape yogurt or some fruit instead of the other piece of bread. Better still try having a breakfast without using a b choice that way you have 2 to use during the day.
You can have wine as syns but need to measure it.
I have lost nearly 3 stone so far and up to recently like Sandra I didn't cheat at all - it really does work if you stick to it .
Let us know how you get on.
Food Diary for yesterday
2 Alpen Light bars
2 bananas
2 apples
ham salad
shape yogurt
spaghetti bolognese with wholemeal spaghetti.
2 small glasses white wine.
Milk for teas and lots of water.
Well done Fiona, nice to see you back.
Claire, as Pamela has said, you are having too much Bread. Take Claire's advice and you won't go wrong.
Food diary for yesterday
3 slices of Weight watchers danish brown and 1 poached egg.(HEb x1)
Milk for tea (HEa x1)
Lunch Banana, Tuna sandwich (HEb x1)
Evening meal spaghetti bolognese
2 glasses of white wine.
Claire, if you try the weight watchers brown danish from the 400g loaf, 3 slices represents 1 healthy extra b choice. Don't forget that the weetabix also represents healthy extra b choice, so you can see from your diary you were having too many B options for the day.
Pamela, keep forgeting to ask what the password is, if you have any idea, please let me know.
Weigh in last night and stayed the same. I've been off track just of late, but am hoping for a good week and will write my diary down every day.

Sorry Janice still haven't been to class[msnembarrased] I will try and find out from somwhere else.
Thanks guys
Can I just confirm how many slices of weight waters bread you are allowed on HEB. And also I have heard that an Alpen bar can count as one HEB which one is it as there seems to be several.
Thanks again for the tips.
Claire
Oh just seen on Pamela's food diary that it is Alpen Light bars, will see if I can find some. And I notice you can have 3 slices of weight watchers 400g bread.
Does that mean that if I didn't use another HEB option such as weetabix or the Alpen Bars that I could have 6 slices?
Thanks
Claire
Yes that right Claire, you seem to be getting the hang of it now. If you need to know anything else, just ask away, if I can't help I am sure one the experts will be along to help.
Not a bad weekend for me, but too many glasses of wine, just have to cut down on my syns this week.
Today's diary
Poached egg, 2 slices of weight watchers Danish Brown
Milk from HEA
Lunch
3 X weights watchers Brown Danish lots of ham, lettice and Tomatoes
Apple
Evening meal
Chicken Breast and green beans.
Banana
Thanks Janice
Right I just think I need to plan ahead more. During October I will be travelling around the country carrying out training for our branches so I will need to make sandwiches for lunch as facilities are minimal. But that's O.K I will stick with Eggs or fruit for breakfast instead of cereal.
So just one more question, not sure how the mix and match works, could someone explain? As cheese is limited ham sandwiches would be better for lunch but I prefer to have a green dinner would that work on mix and match or are Healthy Extra's not an option?
Thanks again
Claire

How about having egg sandwiches.
Never quite got the hang of mix2match but I think Fiona does this so maybe she will be along to explain it. Basically I think you can have red or green at each meal but your free food must be free on both days, i.e eggs fruit yoghurts etc.
Sounds complicated to me Pam.[msneek]
How did your weekend go Pam, did you have a good one.[?]
Tuesdays Dairy
Milk for tea HEA
WW Danish x 2, poach egg
Lunch
3 x ww danish, ham and lettice, Banana
Evening meal Chilli con carni.
