It's a great idea and I think you'll find that if you are doing the dolphin swim you might even be able to get the trainers in on it and get the dolphin to bring the ring or something or maybe a bottle of bubbly if you're leaving it to your other half to choose her own ring or to or participate in some way, . It is a beautiful setting and I'm sure you're girlfriend would remember it forever.

There are lots of quiet spots as well if you wanted to keep it to just the 2 of you.

Hi,
It sounds a lovely idea. I have never been but from what I have heard it is a fantastic day out. Is your other half a dolphin fan? You could arrange a dolphin swim and if you contacted Discovery Cove you could ask if they could assist you in getting the ring delivered by a dolphin. I found a story on the internet about a guy who did this at a dolphin swim in the Florida Keys. There is also loads of footage of dolphin engagements on youtube if you do a search.
Good luck!

the dolphin brings a white circle buoy across the lagoon with marry me wrote on it at the end of the swim part of the interaction

the couple then got out of the water and the man went down on one knee with a ring in his hand

everyone nearby gave them huge applause [clap] i believe you get to keep the buoy as a keepsake to take home

such a beautiful and thoughtful idea, and your obviously a romantic, she obviously loves dolphins, and her mascara wont run! remember the champagne for the evening, trying to sneak that to your villa will also need some planning, when are you planning this extravaganza, i will have to follow this link as it brough a lump to my throat, got married out there a few years ago, never forget it

good luck with the plans

Well it looks like you've got to go ahead now, we're all waiting for the pics, and I bet you got up this morning thinking, I'll just sound this out.

If you leave it too long we'll have the wedding and the first three children planned for you.

It sounds like it would be wonderful but, at the back of my mind I wonder if it might be TOO organised, sometimes spontaneity has it's place and almost a bit conveyor like. I would just check if you go ahead if there are any other proposals booked for the day you intend or try and get and early morning one as it will take the edge of if you happened to be the 4th of the day and your girlfriend had seen the others.

Another idea could be to do the dolphin swim at the twilight Discovery Cove session so you get the sunset as well? In August I'm sure they will be running the sessions.

Derek, your girlfriend is one lucky lady to have someone as obviously caring and romantic as you. I'm sure all the ladies on here said ahhh, when they read your post [msnwink]

Discovery Cove is the most amazing place and worth every cent. You obviously know your girlfriend best and in my opinion it comes down to whether she would love the attention or be embarassed by it. If you don't already know then a few discreet questions / remarks about public proposals should give you an idea.

If you think she might like something less public and you're stuck for ideas then please ask for other suggestions. Florida certainly isn't short on romance and there are some wonderful places perfect for proposals (and wedings!!!)

Please let us know what you decide and how it goes [msnsmile2]

P.S You'd better not let her read these forums :D
