Hi all
Going to Florida for the first time in late August, staying at bass lake community on hwy27. We would appreciate any reviews on this community also I understand from reading through the threads that a lot has changed on the 27 over the last couple of years. Love to hear about whats going on at the moment in terms of shopping and eating, best places. Also advice on provisions on the way to the villa, shop before we drop if you like. Hopefully this will generate links to other questions we need info on.

Calabay parc at towerlakes has a big natural lake with a large fishing pier. It also has a large boating ramp. The community is gated and well located on the 27. The area is growing fast and with the building of posner park(big box retailers, malls and retuarants) Plenty of supermarkets (walmart, publix etc.) restuarants and the best road sysyem available in the area it is becoming more and more desirable by the day.

Bass Lakes and Calabay at Tower lakes are at opposite ends of the 27.Bass Lakes is near the 27/I-4 junction.
Just about 1/2 mile south of Bass Lakes on 27 there is a Publix supermarket or you will pass one at the west end of 192 on your right hand side just before you turn onto the 27 to get to Bass Lakes. If you are not arriving until late at night then there is a 24 hour Wal Mart at Cagan Crossings just a little north on the 27 for the 192 junction where you can get what you need.
The Publix just south is at Berry Town centre where there are also a few eating places including Applebees , an American bistro type place called Kokopellis,Chinese and other take ways.
Up the 27 near to Wal Mart there is a a chilis .
