I had a very blustery walk to school with my daughters this morning here in West Sussex. Part of our fencing has blown down and we had a short power cut but we have been lucky compared to some. Think I'll go and look at some of my Florida snaps to remind me of the sun!

It seems us southerners are getting the worst of it at the moment - stay safe everyone

Thunder, lightening, hail and winds of up to 70mph down here on Hayling Island. Had to go out in the car this morning and there were trees and branches down all over the place as well as fence panes and hoarding around developments. The boat cover and supports had all been broken and Brian has been down there this morning in the pouring rain doing repair work.

Very windy and extremely wet in Surrey with hailstones earlier started around 3.30am and woke me up, saying that seems to have calmed down a bit now. Sky is very grey though and it is cold. No point in using an umbrella.

Not too bad a day here in the North East, hope it stays that way!! We've had much worse winds in the past two weeks when I've lost several fence panels [msnsad]

Very wet and windy in Wiltshire. Loss of power overnight set off the trip switch so woke up to a cold house but apart from a few pots blown over in the garden no damage that I can see.

Record crossing across the Atlantic last night for me. 6 hrs 46mins into Manchester!!
Windy at Manchester airport early on (eventful landing) but been hibernating most of the day so don't care although it's a bit of a culture shock after 12 weeks in Florida[msneek].

lovely pictures Andrew:D
Just had a cold front, only low 70's:D
We had a window blow out this morning at our pub. The glass landed on our managers car and all inside our function room which was laid up for a lunchtime function today. Fortunately no one was injured and we managed to have the function room ready when the customers arrived[clap]
We are now holding our breath as we have a caravan on the cliffs and Perranporth, and the news has just told us the storm will hit Perran in 2 hours!!! There are over 30,000 in Cornwall without electricity. Fortunately, our home is in Devon but I have a freezer full of food in the caravan[msncry]
Hope everyone stays safe.
Sandra
So the wind helped you CDV. Not that you were in a rush to get back.
Wind starting to get stronger, and plenty of rain now.

Pretty bad here in Hampshire last night and this morning. Not a lot of damage at home, mainly tree branches and debris over the garden. On the way to work in Witney this morning came across 2 lorries that had blown over and the journey was pretty scary with the amount of surface water on the road and cross-winds.
I hear that Cornwall had the brunt of the gales. Sorry to hear about the window and your managers car but glad to hear you coped so well Sandra:)

We have been getting a lot of rain which is a bit like living back in the UK...not used to it raining...we can go months without seeing any....

I love where I live, but not today. OMG it's windy I have deserted my study, working from my laptop in the kitchen at the moment. The wind is howling all round my house, feels like the roof is going to lift off any minute I think I maybe safer on the ground floor today [msnwink]

It's terrible here in Liverpool too. The winds woke up Eve who then got in our bed and I feel like I haven't even been to bed. My electricity went off this morning too.
Roll on Florida sun.[8D]
Terrible here too in Lancs. I thought we'd got battened down most things outside but there are still bangs and crashes as stuff is blowing around.
It's beautiful here normally in the Pennines and the views are wonderful but not during this sort of weather as we're the tallest house on the top of a steep hill and there's nothing to stop the wind for about ten miles. So our house gets a real old battering when it's windy. The house was very aptly named Windsmoor by the previous owners who built it and who obviously knew a thing or two! [msncry] We have one consolation though... we'll never get flooded. [msnscared]
Oh to be in Florida... [msncool]
We lost power overnight too, hubby late for work as his alarm didnt go off[msneek], I dont trust alarm clocks that need power as we regularly have power cuts[msnmad]. My monitor was fried when the power went off too[msneek][msncry][msnmad] Oh well, 16 days to go and then I will be in the florida sunshine[msncool]

Its a bit breezy here in Cheshire, but its blowing the cobwebs away -currently about 70mph, no damage locally -wouldn't like to be landing at Manchester Airport today :)

Beautiful day here in Florida . We had rain here yesterday evening and it got quite chilly . Im watching the others splashing about in the pool. We had planned to visit the St. Patricks Day Festival at Celebration but instead we have to go to the airport to meet more family. We will probably head for Downtown Disney this evening.
