Hi all

Would like some advice please. Thinking of booking a two week break for either easter or xmas 09. I understand that both are busy but which is the quieter of the two and which time of year is more likely to have the better weather?

Thanks

The weather is going to be warmer on average in April than in December January but the contrast with the Weather elsewhere is greater at Christmas when it can still be bright and warm and quite dry. The evenings will be warmer in April though. We love the winter visits as it is great to think about what we are escaping.

Both Easter and Christmas will be very busy but you might like to do some of the less obvious attractions as well as the Parks if you want to get away from the crowds.

There is never a bad time to visit Florida . Although Easter wins out on the more consistent weather and longer days, the parks at Christmas are even more magical than ever and if it was an either or, I would choose Christmas.

Using a fast pass system and planning wisely will always lower the wait times.

You will have a great time, whichever you choose.

At Christmas we found the parks OK up to Christmas day as the locals were obviously busy getting ready for the holidays. If you want to do a park between xmas and new year, you could pre book Discovery cove, which only allows limited numbers anyway

You have longer day light hours in EASTER but XMAS it nice for all the lights around the homes and the malls dressed up .
So if you can decided which time you like best they are both good times and as said before there is no bad times in FLORIDA [msnsmile2]

April is a great time to visit Florida, high 70's into low 80's and in our experience, very little rain. We haven't been at Christmas but it is fair to say the weather will be warmer than in the UK [msncool]

We have been in April, just after the Easter holidays and it's a lovely time to visit.
Although I'd love to go at Christmas we haven't yet, if the photos on this site are anything to go by Christmas is even more magical.

Thanks everyone for your input. Just come back from two weeks there - left Orlando at 79 degrees and arrived back to a whopping 3!! [msneek]

We've been there both seasons, the first 2 weeks in dec have been best. The weather has ALWAYS been great for us, plus NO qeues at the parks what so ever. The xmas decorations are simply magical and they are everywhere. XMAS!

We too love December in Florida, the decorations, the excitement, the shopping and the weather can be very warm.

I don't think you will be disappointed whatever time you choose for all the above reasons. I suppose in the end it will come down to your personal preference.

I've never been to Florida at Christmas but I have to confess that last Christmas I kept dreaming of being there. We can not go at that time of year due to my husbands work commitments but hopefully one day I'll get to go. I have been at Easter and the weather was beautiful.

We prefer Easter for the warmer weather and longer daylight hours. If you do decide on xmas try to make xmas day towards the end of your stay as the parks are heaving from xmas eve onwards.
