hi lads thinking of doing the breakfast with disney characters this year has anyone out done it? is it worth it? we have child of 3 what ye think?[grouphug]
it's great, we went for brekkie at the grand floridian with alice in wonderland, the mad hatter, the queen of hearts, tigger, winnie the pooh and friends, the food was buffet style with a omelette chef to cook to order and there was a lot of choice for everyone
it's good for the little ones to be introdced to characters this way as they approach each table and there's no queuing for autographs [msnwink]
different characters appear at different restaurants so if it's princesses you want you may like the castle, you can find out which characters are in which restaurants on the wdw website under the dining finder
here are a few pics, i have a lot but my nephews are in the picture so cannot post them

We also did the Grand Floridian but with Mary Poppins. There were loads of characters there and they did a couple of laps of the dining area so everybody managed to get photos with whoever they wanted.
Plenty of food for breakfast too.

We have done the one at the Contemporary Resort at Chef Mickeys and it was great. Lovely food and you can usually see Mickey, Goofy, Chip, Dale etc. Lovely atmosphere and lots of fun. DH had a lovely concoction of worms in dirt (gummy worms in chocolate mousse!!!) which DD thought was hilarious!

We have done a few when the kids were younger. I think they are expensive as regards the food but the interaction with the characters is priceless as are the photo opportunities. We have done Chef Mickeys (Contemporary Resort), The Princess Storybook Breakfast at Akershus (Norway in Epcot)and Once Upon a Time Princess Breakfast in the castle (Magic Kingdom)
The castle breakfast was really special but for the most fun and best food I would rate chef mickeys.

We have done quite a few over the years, when our daughter was younger, including all those mentioned. The only one we were disappointed with was at the Wilderness Lodge Resort, we expected a buffet style as at the Grand Floridian, but the waiter wanted us to pick everything and then it was ALL put on the same plate...yuk!
Grand Florian still my fav[msnwink]
We have done the one at Hollywood and Vine - just inside the gate at Disney's Hollyood Studios. It was brilliant, I phoned and booked the table a few weeks in advance. A buffet breakfast with lots of characters coming and going. They stopped for photos at all the tables, danced with the children etc.

they are great fun with kids, and also means you get the autographs and photos, and dont have to waste valuable time in the park queuing for these
Our favourite was Chef Mickeys
We have Ohana, Cape May and Crystal Palace booked this time...........OH and CHEF MICKEYS again
Bring on the Napkin Dance I'm READY to ROLL
We also love Chef Mickeys:D

WE like the one at the Beach Club hotel with Goofy, Minnie and Chip and Dale. Good Buffet style too.
Also good is Ohana at the Polynesian with Stitch as we have a major Stitch fan. ( Mark aged 9 !!!)
If you do the ones in the hotels you do not need park entrance for that day.
Also did Chef Mickey for diner and breakfast- liked them too

We always eat at Cinderella's Castle and last time was the first time we had been to it as a character meal. My girls loved it. We also had a character breakfast at Animal Kingsom which was good. Years ago we went to the revolving restaurant which I think is at Epcot. Not quite so good as my youngest was having a fit if a character so much as looked at her! A lot depends on which characters your children love. They have all been brilliant with my eldest wwho has to have a gluten free diet. AK made gluten free pancakes and the chef came out to talk to her about what she would like at the Castle. She could have anything on the menu as a gluten free option; they even had gluten free pasta, which she chose.

My son was on business and staying at the Swan. He was a little later for breakfast one day and him (and 3 other guys) all in suit and tie etc were sat eating and the characters kept approaching them.
It was so funny when he was telling us. In the end they suggested the staff ask the characters to stick to the kids as they had not gone for the character breakfast.
