We have booked a villa at Lindfields in February and obviously it will be dark when we arrive. Any tips for an easy journey from Orlando airport to this area? We will also need to buy some basic provisions straight away, will this be possible in this area? We land at 17.30 at Orlando.
Thanks
Jenni

The journey from the airport is pretty straightforward to Lindfields. If you do get lost there are always lots of signs to Disney World so follow those to get back on track. Lindfields is on the 192 just west of Disney.
For shopping you will pass Publix and also Goodings supermarkets - both are open late and are pretty large - you can get everything you need there. If you prefer something a bit smaller to just nip in and pick up some essentials there are plenty of 7-11 stores which carry the basics.

Hi Jenni,

If you contact the owner of the villa you are renting they will be only too happy to send you detailed information as to the best route to their villa. They can also advise you on late night shopping in the area or might be able to arrange for a welcome pack to be at the villa for your arrival at reasonable cost.

Have a great vacation.

Goodings is now called Winn Dixie Market Place. However, on the right hand side of the road opposite the intersection where the dragons are (between market 5 and 4 on 192) is a 24hr Walgreens. You can buy milk, tea, coffee, eggs, cheese, butter, bread etc.

Slightly further up at Orange Lakes is the Publix, this is open until 11.00pm every night so would be your best bet.

Hi Jenni-I'm going at the end of Feb and am also on Lindfields.

This is what I snd to my guests:-

From either Orlando or Sanford Airports

As you leave the airports take the US 417 going south and west. It is a toll road so take some small notes/change with you. It is a relatively quiet road and we use it as much as we can. Orlando Airport is about 25 miles from the villa and Sanford about 45 miles. Make sure you are not in the Epass lane at the toll booth-it’s literally for people with passes.

Stay on this 417 until you see Junction 2 signposted. You should see in the distance on the right hand side the tall white poles of the bungee ride at Old Town (they are lit up at night)- so you will know you are getting near. You’ll see a sign saying 192 west-come off there and follow that. After you have paid your last toll(25c and it’s an unmanned toll booth-so please keep a quarter handy) turn right and follow the road up. You will be in the outskirts of the Disney town of Celebration. At the T-junction at the top turn left onto the 192 west.

There are markers on the 192 and Celebration is approx at marker 8. Disney is at marker 6 and Lindfields is at marker 2 (but they have been doing some construction and they may not have replaced the sign yet) Not to worry-you will pass Disney on your right and at Marker 4- the dragon at Splendid China/Goodings (now re-named Winn-Dixie-just to confuse things!) plaza on your left. You will pass a Publix supermarket on your right when you are about a mile from your villa (so you may want to pop in and get some supplies for a cuppa!) When you see a Howard Johnson hotel/resort on your left hand side-you are about ½ mile from the villa and it is time to move into the left hand lane as Lindfields is on the left. You’ll see some condos/apartments on the left and the entrance to Lindfields is just after.(Look for two low curved brick walls-with the name on). Lindfields is after the Orange Lake Resort and if you reach the 2nd Publix on the right hand side-you will know you have gone past the entrance.
