View Full Version : LOST
Don't forget, all you addicts out there, Series 4 starts Sunday night on Sky at 9pm.
Will all the questions hanging from the last series be answered? I somehow doubt it.

It's only scheduled to be on Sky One for an hour Sunday which is the new episode. Been told they have been showing season 3 on an afternoon fo rthe last couple of weeks.
This link will take you to recap of last episode (hope it's ok to post) there is summary of all shows here.

Cliffhanger from the end of Season 3 was that they had contacted the boat ('Not Pennys Boat' if you remember poor Charlie's message scribbled on his hand in the underwater base) and they were sending someone to 'save' them.
However Ben declared that everyone on the island was now going to die.
Oh and the fact that the last scene was a flash *forward*. not back.
Just watched the first episode and it is a good one.
I don't watch much TV but LOST is something that has me hooked. There is so much to discuss and think about (each episode and the overall story) which makes for great TV imo.
Oh and some trivia is that the pilot who was flying the plane is Matt Parkman in Heroes...

Indeed...
Each season from here on was meant to be 16 episodes, as opposed to the 23 from previous seasons.
They've managed to film 8 this season and if they don't end up making any more because of the writers strike then the end of the 8th episode can serve as a season end...
I hope we get the full 16 episodes because I'm not sure 8 episodes will have sated me enough to last until next January!!!

I HAVE to ask Brizzle? Have I missed something? How have you seen ALL 8 of season 4[msnwink]
The last 3 episodes of season 3 were on Sky one today... I have watched all season 3 again in the afternoons, found it by accident and was completely hooked AGAIN...LOVE IT!!! ispeople see Naveen Daniels on J Ross on Friday? He said the series is to run to at least 2 more I think :) The great thing about the afternoon showings was the fact that it was everyday...so I had MORE chance of remembering what had happened[^] I do hope the explanations to what has gone on...is not a disappointment in the end, I would be so disappointed[msneek] Looking forward to Sunday[msnwink]
No, not at all. I wish :D
Just some info from reading the intermaweb.
I have seen episode 1 of Season 4 though and I think this season, be it 8 or 16 episodes, will be a corker.
Just worked out that if it is an 8 episode run that I'll be in Florida for the finale....oooo, time to get the popcorn and beer (Dharma beer of course) in.

Have to say I cannot wait for tonight...have the video ready so I can watch it again tomorrow too!!
Never mind Karen it will be worth the wait:) I will be buying series 3 in a few weeks when we are out to Florida, and plan to watch through all of them again.
OK. who knows , end of series 3, who's coffin does Jack visit? I was REALLY confused by that , assume it was someone Kate knew as well? Once he saw that cutting in the newspaper it seemed to have a real affect on him. It's driving me crazy :(
Oh, I missed that they were re-showing the last 3 episodes of Season 3. I could have done with seeing them again. I used to have a theory for who was in the coffin, but I can't remember it now! [msnscared]

I'm LOST, at the end of each episode my hubby and I just look at each other. So glad this is back on.
Is anyone any the wiser?
I certainly am not, just even more confused.
What I found confusing in the flash to the future they spoke like Jack's dad was alive. How can that be [msnscared]
MuDvAyNeX
04-02-2008, 04:45
Who knows but wasnt it Jacks dad in the chair at the hut that Hurley was at.
Also i never knew Hurley was supose to be in his 30's!!
I am more confused and LOST than ever! [msnscared]
It certainly seemed to be Jack's dad in that chair. Maybe they were talking, in the flashforwards, about Jack's dad being alive because he IS alive? Not sure how that works, but you never know with Lost.
Who was the man who came to visit Hurley in the mental institution?
Who are the 'Oceanic 6' going to turn out to be??[msneek]
Paula D-S
04-02-2008, 16:07
The Oceanic 6 got me too Elaine, we know three now from the flash forwards, Jack (so good to see him in my living room again[msnwink]),Kate and Hurley.
Charlie was certainly looking good for a dead guy.......quite a bit more handsome than when he was alive.
Jacks dad died in Australia, and Jack went to get his body, if my memory is correct.
Jack did go to collect his Dad but various forums have confirmed it was Christian in Jacobs shack. Jack also 'saw' him in Season 1 so I'm not sure where all this is going.
We have had the line 'nothing stays buried for long on this island'!!!
Normally I would have put Charlie down as a hallucination apart from the fact that one of the other inmates pointed him out to Hurley so he must have been there.
As for the Oceanic 6. We know at least 6 got off the island but that doesn't mean others didn't that the media don't know about. Just guesses here, nothing I've read so probably way off the mark.
It will be interesting to see what happens to turn Jack from this flash-forward of 'normal, operating again, not wanting to return' Jack to the finale of Season 3's flash-forward of 'bearded, disfunctional, obessesive, wanting to return to the island' Jack.
Obviously Locke wasn't right, hence Hurleys apology to Jack during their brief meeting.
<blockquote id="quote" class="ffs">quote:Originally posted by Karen

[/quote]
Jack's dad's body was on the flight, in the coffin. However Jack 'saw' his dad, so maybe the strange powers of the island were at work and made him come to life again?
So which of the 6 died?
It seems to be that death that flipped Jack.
It might not even be one of the 'Oceanic 6'.
If for example 6 from the flight manifest got off the island *and* Ben then they might well keep Ben a secret.
Not sure how but again it depends on how they get off the island.
It would explain the low key funeral with no-one turning up as he technically didn't exist or have any family.
He might also be the only one who could 'find' the island again so that would explain why Jack was willing to jump off the bridge when he saw that this person had died.
I think Jack had already grown the beard etc.. when he saw the obituary in the paper and this closed the door to him returning.
Then again I have a weird theory in my head that it *is* Penny's boat!!!!
Yes, I have been thinking that it could only be Ben who's funeral we saw in the flash forwards as this would explain why no one turned up. And why Jack was distract because the reson you suggest Brizzle. That makes sense.
There again when when did anything making sense apply to LOST [msnwink]

I've just seen a big billboard poster coming into work which says
"6 will be saved" the islanders were split into two definate groups, on one side was Jack, Kate, Hurley, Clare, Saeed and Ben.
Brizzle are you a writer on this show because if this poster is to be believed Ben was on the side of those who are saved.

Are things any clearer after last night's episode? [msnscared]
Well it confirmed Naomi was telling the truth about them being 'confirmed dead' off island.
The discovery of the plane (fake?) told us that at least..
Apart from that, a nice lot of things to ponder.
Daniel Farraday could be a nod to a 'Farraday Cage' effect which apparently can shield signals (think why a microwaves rays don't get out and fry you).
Also Charlotte Staples Lewis is a nod to C.S.Lewis...
..and the last episode of Season 3 being titled 'Through the looking glass'.
Is this a hinting at an alternate reality like Alice in Wonderland...
I'll let you digest that info [msnwink]

well...I am recording the episodes so that I can watch back and RE WATCH back[msneek] Brizzle you are SO GOOD at the detective work...not sure it makes it any clearer for me though...doh!!
STILL Loving it though[clap][clap]
Can't lay claim to the idea's as I read most of them on forums.
Then a little reading on wikipedia or lostpedia (yes it exists, lol) to flesh it out.
There are loads of things I would never spot or even think of.
For example look at the pictures going up the stairs when Miles goes up to talk to the 'murdered grandson'.
Then have a look at them when he descends....different. And this isn't the first time things have been different.
In season 2, things in the hatch changed between episode 1 and 2 and then back again.
For example , the record player he was listening to 'Make your own kind of music' on had a plastic casing, then wooden the next episode, then plastic again for the subsequent show.
My money is on Charlotte being Ben's 'man' on the boat.
If she was part of a team with the primary objective being Ben then why has she not acknowledged him. And the English accent person is 'always' evil....
Although I think the general consensus is that it's Michael and/or Walt.
As for the C.S.Lewis reference my guess is that it's an indication that time is passing faster/slower on island than the real world. Same as the Narnia universe.
Well, where are we now?
These flash forwards are making it even more confusing.

When I was in Florida last week. I watched the new episode of Lost on Thursday a lot more flash forwards and things got a little clearer, but again more questions are then brought up.
I suppose we now know 4 of the Osixers.
We also know that time is different on island as opposed to off island, as indicated by Daniels experiment.
I like the idea that the button pressing was resynchronising the time between island and real world.
Now the hatch is no more and no button pressing is occurring they are slipping further and further behind the real world.
And my first ever successful prediction came true, Ben does get off the island....unless he can come and go as he wants, which his secret cupboard seemed to indicate anyway.
I've read on forums that the £20 note Sayid looked at in Bens secret wardrobe was only in circulation between 1991 and 2001, and it's now supposedly the end of 2004.
It also has Michael Faraday on which has been referenced before with Daniels surname being Faraday (Faraday cages).

I won't consider Ben one of the Oceanic 6 as he was not on the plane.
I agree Ben won't be part of the 6 as he wasn't on the plane (as we know).
I'm not sure what Ben is any more.
Part of a big secret organisation? more spiritual/evil?
Has he planned all this from the word go?
If he can pop on and off the island and knows what is going to happen (a la Desmond) then could he have made sure Jack was on the plane to perform his operation.
Ben is always two, no three, steps ahead and I'm convinced he deliberately got himself captured in Season 2 to infiltrate the losties.
And I don't think he is captured now, he is playing everyone, especially Locke, to do whatever he has to do to protect the secret that the island holds.
Question is, when he was alone with Sayid in Othersville during the last episode, is that the point Sayid started 'working' for Ben?

Ahhh yes,

Am newly hooked on Lost, watching from series 1 now as I type :D It's brilliant can't believe we missed it for so long [msnsmile2]
I seem to remember that we already suspected that Ben was able to get on and off the island because he seemed to know so much about the Losties.
This last episode has just made it even more confusing, of course. What do we think is going to happen to the helicopter? Daniel told the pilot to be very careful to stay on the exact bearing that they took to get to the island - so presumably something will happen if they don't.

As I re-watched all 4 episodes today (don't ask[msneek]), I can tell you Emm, that Kate in the underground carpark on her way from court, said to Jack "|That everytime she heard Jack tell the story, she wondered if he ACTAULLY BELIEVED it himself now?" Any excuse Carol[msnwink]
I think Jack is feeling guilty for something that happened.
Either Claire died on the island (and he couldn't help it or was a factor in the death)...or Claire is still in the island and Jack was the one who somehow got Aaron off but not Claire.
It makes it more weird since Aaron is his Nephew since Claire was Christians daughter.
Maybe Aaron is the key to all this, back in season 1 (or 2) the fortune teller told Claire that she must raise this child. No-one else or there is great danger. Her goodness must rub off on him, or something like that.
Now he's with Kate.....uh oh
It could be Aaron is the bad guy and Ben has been the good guy all along as he has stated.
Oh dear every week of watching I seem to get even more confused. I NEED ANSWERS x

Wow after days of watching back to back right from the start LOST we've now caught up and already suffering withdrawel symptoms from weaning off [msncry] . Cant believe how many questions we're still left with and how totally adictive it is [msnoo] Could Jack not want to see the baby Aaron because he found out Claire is his half sister, why else would he not want to see him, unless Claire died and he feels responsible for her death [msnscared] like said so many questions. We also dont think Ben is one of the O6 , cant wait for tonight :D
I thought perhaps he didn't want to see the child because he was envious that it wasn't his.
But he knows that Aaron is not his or Kate's child, so what to be envious of [msnscared] Tho this is Lost, so who knows...... probably somethng none of us thought of .......

They look good - they have information bars at the foot of the screen to remind you of things that have happened in previous episodes/series, or who is connected to whom etc etc.
[/quote]
I'd be too busy watching the bottom of the screen to realise what was going on at the top[msnembarrased]
They have had these in the US a few days after the original airs.
One thing that people on LOST forums noticed is that the enhanced version indicated that the person who you assume is Daniels wife/girlfriend when we see his flashback is described as his caregiver....interesting
Roll on Thursday.
We're also getting an extra hour in this season now.
These episodes run until 15th May (1st hour of the finale) then a two week break and hours 2 and 3 of the finale....
They must have had to film these new episodes PDQ - it's not that long since the writers' strike ended!

Hang on guys...no one told me when it was actually BACK on the screens in the UK :( I didn't see atrailer for the enhanced previous versions Emm:( I missed an episode in USA when travelling to the airport to go on hols to Florida... BTW EMM, they didn't show the one I missed just before the Thursday one (which was the last episode. So have read here that it was the episode that showed Sun and her baby daughter.....gutted. I am all of a muddle now, as I knew I would be...the break really missed series 4 up for me...I would rather they started again all episodes one after the other :)
Still, got series 3 when on hols, so may treat myself to a LOST fest at some point...all 3 episosdes in one go...hee hee!!
NOW...when is LOST back here in the UK?[msnwink] Answers on a postcard..well on this forum would be great:)
From what I've been able to find out, it seems that the first 8 episodes are being repeated (with the captions) on May 3rd and 4th - four episodes a day from 1pm - 5pm and then the new episode will be on the 4th at 9pm. It looks like we might be 10 days beind the US this time, but apparently ABC (or Sky, not sure) keep changing their minds about when it's being shown.
ABC website has it advertised as new episodes returning this Thursday, 24th April so I guess it's Sky trying to adjust their schedules to fit these extra episodes in post-writer strike.
I tend to watch it on the Friday after it airs in the US via an alternative route so I'll give it a mark out of 10 for you [msnwink]
Just seen trailer for 'Lost Enhanced' starting on Sky One on 3rd May. Looks like it'll be on the whole weekend[msnsmile2] Can't wait[msnwink]

I started to watch it, but decided against watching it all. I will wait until I am back in the UK and watch everything in order otherwise it might be confusing (well, more confusing than it already is!! [msnscared]).
Well, what a fantastic 2 hours. Lots of questions were answered, but a lot more new ones posed.
Also an unexpected, to me anyway, sting in the tail. The programme afterwards was very good as well.
Bring on the next series. Mind you, how you get back to an Island that has moved when you had no idea where it was in the first place is going to be interesting.

Carol.....for you[grouphug]
This was, in my opinion, the best Lost finale to date. Does anyone know when the 5th series will be on TV?

I have no idea Paula, assume it will be later this year? As always the program leaves you wanting more...except i was very shocked at he final scene..did not see that coming at all
:( Assume there will be flash backs galore as about 3 years has passed , supposedly[msneek] which will get me through.
If it was as sunny here as Florida I could cope...but argghhh...have the heating on here again[msncry]
I bought my husband the DVD set for Christmas of series 4 as we do not have Sky, and we just watched the last one last night. They left things really on a cliff hanger!!!

Over the xmas hols I my daughter and I watched series 1 through series 4, (yes it is my favourite show) and have to say I saw so many more things, meanings etc watching it like that! Needless to say, we loved it and are completely ready for series 5. Any dates announced for start yet? I am assuming it will be close to the 23rd Jan 2009! Going back to the island...ummmm...interesting[msnwink] Hope Sawyer still delivers those one liners....really enjoyed his character watching the episodes back to back!!!
The penultimate series starts on Sunday 25th Jan 2009[msnsmile2] and I can't wait[msnwink]
Kim
And they are saying that there are only another 34 episodes to go, so the end is in sight.
Well, its back, and it is as if it has never been away. Just as confusing as ever.
However, they seem to be doing more time travel than Doctor Who.
Never mind Lost, whens Prison Break back?
Does anyone know if Lost is repeated during the week? I've somehow managed to stop recording tonight's episode, on my Skybox, after 16 mins[msnmad]
Thanks
Kim
It's repeated tomorrow on sky2 at 10pm[msnsmile2]

Well, it has taken me longer than usual to get into this series, but think after last nights episode it may pick up....the flashes were starting to irritate me a little:( Hope they don't try to wrap the whole program up too quickly and leave us all feeling cheated by the end of season 6[:O], it has been too good to do that to us!!

I have given up on it, they are making it up as they go along. Turnin a dial to make the island shift in time was the final for me... Its just silly. My family are stil riveted to it though.
