So, when we get back from Orlando on the 22nd Feb we will be collecting a new member of our family. A chocolate brown mini labradoodle who will be 8 weeks old. For once we will actually have something to look forward to about heading home[msnwink]

Now the problem is we can't all agree on a name and so knowing what impeccable taste people on this forum have I thought I would try and get some help:

We have a lady look after our Westie for last few years as we go out twice a year, she has moved in with her BF and last couple of visits Barney wouldnt leave her BF alone and evertime she has to give him back her BF goes mad.
Got a call from her yesterday to say she has just bought a Westie (2weeks old) and has named him Alfie and cant wait to pick him up and when he is able to mix with other dogs after his jabs she wants to get him introduced to Barney as when either of us goes on holiday the other will be baby sitting.....

Now then....

As both my wife and my children are starting to celebrate as it looks like their preferred names are in the lead.....I feel I must urge you all to consider the nobility of a name like Bartlet......why it is nearly presidential and I believe there was a poll in the US which said that people would prefer Bartlet to be their president ahead of the Bush.

What better name for a dog, unusual, a bit quirky, authoritative and strong.

Please [msntongue]please[msntongue]please[msntongue]vote Bartlet

And whoever voted for trouser.....please think of me stood in the park[sporty] having to call him back to his lead....."come on Trousers, time to go home"[msnembarrased]

[chatter]Vote Bartlet...you know it makes sense.[chatter]

I often meet a dog called Bartlet who is usually known as Bartie by his owners! I voted for Alfie, we named one of our kittens that last year and he is a real character.

Good luck with your chocolate lab, we have a very mad one here[msnwink] he will be 5 in April. They are a lovely dog but very lazy and stubbon, just don't leave any food out on view.

I wanted to call mine Charlie (brown) but Mick has a nephew called that so ended up with Roddey or most of the time Rodney (only fools & horses), Alfie is the choice for me from your list.

After much debate a decision has been reached. The kids won and Scooby is his name.

If only you had all voted for Bartlet I could have won them over!![msnwink]

He looks fantastic - well done kids Scoobie's a great name. But I think you should call him pickle!

Have fun when you get your new addition! And give him a big hug from me.
