I've not rented a villa before and I'm keen to find a 3 or 4 bedroom villa where it's possible to sit outside in the sun, rather than under glass as all the pools seem to be. It's quite tricky to see whether pool decks have exits to the grass outside, and indeed whether sitting outside is allowed. I can e-mail the owners I know, but I wondered if anyone knew how I could search for those with garden access more generally and if this sort of thing is allowed?

Thanks
Al

Hello,
most villas will come with garden and grass to sit out on. Pool cages are not glass, they are a fine mesh so your outside. The mesh keeps out mossies, so you are assured of comfort and you can get a tan.

The pools are not under glass,Al. They have black netting, keeps out flying friends etc. but lets in the sun rays. all pool decks also have exits to the outside. som houses also have decks that are not covered as well as the pool deck.

Some of our villas are designed to do just what you describe. Guests have a choice of sitting under the screen net or just outside on an open deck area. I do not recommend ever moving chairs on to the grass as you would easily get bitten.

You can certainly get a healthy tan by a screened pool. But if you want some garden space to sit away from the pool, I would recommend you put in a general enquiry to the sites above and state that as a requirement. As Angela says, make sure there is a deck or paved area as insects maybe a problem sitting on the grass.

As others have said, most pool screens are mesh. I wondered if the ones you had looked at had something called Florida Glass on the pool screen. This is put in place by some owners to offer privacy around the pool. This also is not real glass.

Another option you could consider is a villa with a balcony which offers sun lovers the opportunity to bake themselves in those rays and outside of the pool screen.

Most villas have a garden you can sit but you can get a good sun tan in the florida room and not get bitten by bugs as there is a mesh so nice to feel that you do not have to watch all the time .Make sure you put sun cream on as the FLORIDA sun is hot .
