This is exactly what my husband wants to do, so he is starting flying lessons this weekend in the UK. We had a flight in a bi plane down the Keys and it was brilliant. We would love to explore Florida by air and can't wait for him to get his licence.

That sounds wonderful Olive. It brings back memories of when my husband was building up his flying hours for his commercial pilots licence. We flew in a Cessna from Chicago to Seattle and back, stopping at some way out places along the way! I can only appreciate now what a fantastic trip it was[msnsmile] It's amazing what you get to see from a light aircraft, we really saw some breathtaking views.

Ive just been speaking to him , he was calling from the Florida Mall to see if we needed anything from Florida before he came home . He said today was just beautiful , but quite chilly before 10.00 am and after 19.00 you do need a sweater or jacket . Some day perhaps I will travel down to Sarasota or some other much loved Florida spot , I would so much love to do this rather then drive for hours in the heat .Who knows , how little did we think as a family when we travelled to Florida for a "once in a lifetime holiday " in 1995 how well we would be come aquainted with this US State, and that it would be like home to ourselves and our children .
