View Full Version : Nintendo Wii's for sale
If anybody is looking to buy a Nintendo Wii for Xmas, i have just bought one from a seller in Berkshire who has quite a few in stock.
They are priced at £250, i didn't want to pay that much, but eh i wanted one for Xmas and as you can't seem to get them anywhere in the shops i went ahead and bought it.
Not sure if i'm supposed to allowed to post this on here, sorry if i'm not.
Keith..
Hi Keith
I have just DM you
Dianne
I would think the price is not too bad if you really want one. The retail is about £180.

I fully understand what you are saying Martin and i know you don't mean me.
The problem is that it's a sellers market, i wanted a Wii, but there were none in stock anywhere i looked, then i found this guy who was selling some and paid the £250 he was asking for. He got what he wanted and i got what i wanted.
All that i'm saying to people on the forums, is i can get you one if you want one, but they will cost £250. They are legitimate as well.

Yep i understand. what I cannot believe is the suppliers, why on earth dont they up production for xmas. All they are doing is feeding the secondary resellers and not helping themselves at all.

I think Nintendo did this last year. You couldn't buy them for love nor money. Same again this year, but because it's such a good family entertainment console, everyone wants one.
I guess if the shops can't supply them, somebody else will, but at a price they feel they can get.

production is at full capacity, some where around 9 million units per week, to cover the whole world.
My DH went to Bowlers today, for those that don't know its a very large computer fair at Trafford Park Manchester and they had hundreds of Wii's for sale all brand new[msnsmile2]
you can check on availablility on www.wiipreorder.co.uk
the site updates every 60 secs so if you watch it through the day you will maybe get lucky. No need to pay over the odds too as it just lists online shops like toysrus and argos etc
If that gets edited - DM me!!!!!
To me it looks like someone (Nintendo?) is playing a twisted game. Here in The Netherlands there are plenty of Wii's available and are even on sale at some shops for 239 Euro's. It is a brilliant console though !
sounds like it is the usual panic for the one xmas 'toy'. As they came out last year and people had them for xmas then it seems starnge that they are in such limited supply, I think it was PS3 they were pushing last xmas.
Great site Molly, well worth knowing about
Just visited the wiipreorder site and was impressed with this site, but noticed that all of the stores are either overpricing the wii's or are selling the wii's in a bundle but would you reallty want the games they are offering?.
I noticed that some stores openly admit that they are increasing prices due to lack of stock. Without the game bundles the prices for just the standard packs range from £230 up to £320 at the least.
I can get them for £220 today. I paid £250 for mine, but i was prepared to pay that price, but i certainly wouldn't want to pay for games that i didn't want which is what most of the stores are doing now with the bundles they are forcing on you.
Keith..
They were just over £200 at Bowlers[msnsmile2]
Thats a good price Julie, be even better if i lived up in Manchester.
Still £20 or so over the shop prices, but i would be prepared to pay over the odds for something i wanted. I reckon there are going to be some very unhappy children this xmas.
Sony have said that the ps3 outsold the wii last weekend for the first time, but only because Nintendo cannot make enough consoles.
It is something parents have to take into consideration when deciding what sort of price they are prepared to pay for the wii.
Keith...
Hi
We bought one off ebay for £220.00 with sports package.
Dianne
Dianne, were you happy paying that price?
Keith.
As I understand it, these stores make virtually nothing on the hardware but make their money on the software, I guess this is why they charge for a bundle. Seems fair enough as long as you get the games you want.
I'm sure you're right when you say the stores don't make much money on the console itself, but most of these games are £35 each, why should i spend up to £70 on 2 games i don't really want.
Before the shortage of consoles, all the stores were quite happy to just sell the console for £180, then you were able to buy the games you wanted to buy, not the games you didn't want.
From what i saw in quite a few games stores, all the nintendo stock was advertised as a bundle sale only. By the way, i went to Reading, Slough and Bracknell and all the shelves were empty, not a nintendo wii in sight..

Just got a cracking deal,
console with a free game plus a choice of 3 more games of the shelf all for £239.00 offer oday only at game station worcs, normally £299.00 which is still good. Most other stores in teh area had stock but at inflated prices.
Just trying it out, what a hoot.

Nice one Martin[msnsmile], Amazon had the console only in stock earlier today for £179.95 with free delivery but obviously good deals go fast.
