it would be very tiring to do 2 weeks of doing parks non stop. I suggest you write down which parks the kids want to do and which parks the adults want to do and then plan to hop between the disney parks to get the most out of the 2 weeks. Also leave 1 day or even 1/2 a day in between them as you will be too tired to enjoy them. Spend 1/2 a day to a day by the pool or even shopping..... You can also go back another year to finish off the parks. Orlando has alot more than just parks to see and do so you will need to visit many more times anyway.

for villas put in a request for the 3 sites above on this forum, put in any requirements you have like a game room, private pool etc and you will get replies from any that are available.

hi Jan

http://www.orlando-guide.info/forums/Data/mizzy/20071031214857_welcome.gif to the forum

i would say check for flights first then if you want a villa you could put a request into all three sites above and then the car's easy, there's a link above for that above too

i would also plan a rough itinerary and read through some trip reports to give you ideas

any questions just come back and ask, everyone is really friendly on here

H Jan,

There are actually 4 sites for villas connected to this forum, here are the links

http://www.orlandovillas.com/
http://www.villasflorida.com/
http://www.onlinefloridavillas.com/
http://www.orlandovillarental.com/

Try all of the above sites as the dates that you are looking at include Thanksgiving so a lot of the villas may well be booked.

For Car hire from this site this is the link

http://www.floridahire.com/

You can also hire sat nav if you are not familiar with Orlando, everything of interest is pre-programmed into the unit.

For flights try http://www.flightsflorida.com/

For all of your theme park tickets try this link

http://www.park-tickets.com/

I am sure you will manage to sort everything out using the links provided. Have fun choosing and I am sure you will have a fabulous time.

Welcome Jan :) You'll be able to plan your whole holiday using the Orlando Villas sites. It's a good idea as Mizzy says to get your flights organised first, after that it's plain sailing!

It's difficult to recommend special things without knowing the type of things you like but a few suggestions are, Discovery Cove to swim with Dolphins, Trainer for the Day is brilliant if you really want to push the boat out. Discovery Cove is also the most relaxing of the park experiences. What about a balloon flight or a helicopter ride? La Nouba the Cirque du Soleil show at Downtown Disney is awesome and suitable for any age. The trip reports and guides here will give you more ideas, you might also like to buy a copy of ‘a Brit’s Guide to Orlando and Walt Disney World’, it's updated every year and has loads of useful information and money saving tips.

There is just so much to do and see in the area that it's impossible to pack it in and as Bernie says there is so much more than just the theme parks.

Hope that helps, just ask again if there is anything else you would like to know. You'll have an amazing time and like everyone here will want to return time after time [msnwink]

Jan hi and welcome.
I agree with Berni that to try and do all the parks at once will be too tiring.
At least have a chill out day between each of the major park trips.

For a special treat for your 30th I would definately go with Cirque du Soleil! Our whole family went a couple of years ago and everybody from aged 3 to 73 loved it - it's at Downtown Disney so there is also lots of places to eat there too.
Planning your days at the parks is a good idea before you go too - decide if you are more a sort of family to head off early and come back to the villa to splash in the pool later or are you more the sort to play in the morning after a leisurely breakfast by the pool and then head out to catch the afternoon in the parks and the fireworks etc at night?
Whatever you decide to do - I just know you will all have a fabulous time!

Or how about the Hoop de Doo revue at Disney? Great fun cowboy based evening- be warned, if its your birthday, you'll be standing on your chair while people with washboards sing to you LOL Good for all ages.

I think it's great to go to one of the Disney parks on your birthday. If you wear a badge all the Disney staff wish you a Happy Birthday where ever you go it makes you feel very special and your son would love that too! Why not combine it with character dining on the same day[msnsmile]

If you find yourself in Epcot and want a special meal try Totto Italia Ristoranta. Have them sing happy birthday to you in Italian- Great stuff.

Welcome to the forum Jan you will find loads of helpful advice on here!

I too would recommend being at Disney for your birthdays, not sure which day it is but if it coincides with Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party I would spend the day at either Animal Kingdom, Epcot or MGM Studios and then head over to Magic Kingdom for MVMCP! This starts at 7.00pm so you need to be there promptly - lots of people dress up, you can have group photos which they mail to you in the UK which are a lovely memento of the day.

The days of MVMXP are November 12,15,16,25,27,29,30
December 2,4,6,7,9,11,13,14,16,18, 20 & 21

Otherwise the I agree with the other suggestions of Discovery Cove or perhaps an early morning balloon ride and La Nouba in the evening.

Regarding putting a package together you will find it better value to organise everything yourself - all the villa owners have a wealth of experience you can tap into on here, and check out the sites mentioned above for villas, car hire & park tickets.

I starting going to Florida in 1993 and we went the first couble of times on a package, would never do that again booking everything yourself is both cost effective and fun (well I think it is anyway[msnsmile]) This site is great value for your car, I would never use anywhere else. I have not hired a villa from here yet but they all look fantastic. Park tickets are also very good value on this site and once you have decided which ones you want you just order them all from the one site and they will arrive in the post - great. Hope you enjoy planning & have a great holiday
