View Full Version : Deep Fried Coca Cola
Our son is studying chemistry at University of North Carolina and as it is fall break he and his friends decided to visit the state fair. He had a wonderful time and was very impressed with the variety of things to do and see. He is not a great lover of fried food and nearly everything was deep fried including oreos, peanut butter, jelly and banana sarnis. You expect to see somethings fried but what did catch his eye was Deep Fried Coca Cola. Am wondering how long it will be before it travels down to events in Florida. He did try some and said the fried bits were fine but the syrup over the top made him feel ill.
OMG i cannot think of anything so disgusting! Are you sure he isnt having a joke with you?

He has sent us a photo which is not overly clear because of the sunlight but has also added a sign from the vendor advertising this 'delicacy'

There is a shop in Brighton that offers to deep fry any type of sweet. I might challange them with this one.
Sounds like it is batter with a coke flavoured[xx(]syrup on?

Bennigans in Florida do a sandwich that is covered in Batter and I would not recommend it at all[sick]

Go in Chiquito's and order a deep fried ice cream-it is delicious-in truth it is icecream covered in crushed "cornflakes" and honey--bit of a con but who cares!!!

I just watched an episode of the Simpsons where they go to a state fair, and Homer has his shirt deep fried [and is wearing it all crispey and battered :)] !! At a stall that looked very similar -anything deep fried :D
