We are in Orlando at Easter and would like to try and fit in a beach day as well.

We have previously been to Coco beach and would like recommendations for beaches on the Gulf coast.

We are just looking for somwhere quiet and interesting to spend the day, no attractions necessary.

We love Treasure Island, thats nice and quiet, everyone tends to go to Clearwater or St.Petes
and its next door to these beaches.

How long is the drive normally and are there days you should avoid?

Hey Chris,

We're off to the Gulf Coast (St Petes's) in September 04 after an initial week in Orlando because both my partner and I love a beach holiday. We'd heard so many good reports about this area but opted for St Pete's because there are plenty of restaurants [:p] and beach bars for a typical chill out holiday [8D]. I'm sure it will feel like we've been on two holidays after comparing the Orlando madness to St Pete's! Oh yeah and if we get a little bored of relaxin' on a cabana with a cool beer we can always pop up to Busch Gardens!!!

Have a good one!!!

Sorry,

forgot to mention....St Pete's is about 116 miles from Orlando.
Also the Salvador Dali museum nearby.

Cheers

Thanks for the link, Fort De Soto Park looks like our kind of beach! Anyone been there?
