Just thought I'd drop a quick 'Hello' whilst I am sat waiting for Mrs Peg to come on-line and have a chat. I haven't visited the forum for a while as I having been planning for the move over and getting into the swing of working here - so it was nice to look in and get a sense of normality for a little while.

At the moment I'm in a small 2 bedroom apartment - though all I have is a bed, fridge, and microwave (oh and an iron and board) so it's pretty empty and hollow at the moment. Needless to say I spend as much time out as I can though with 45 - 50 deg temperatures its not exactly sun bathing weather.

Moving into a 3 bed soon though - just in time for Mrs Peg and the little pegs popping over for a few days to get a feel for the place before they move out for good Nov/Dec. (Think I might need another bed before they get here though)

Been updating them with piccies so they know what they are coming over to and the kids seem excited by it all - and it's strange to think that when we go over to Florida for our holiday next year it will feel cool - which is good in some respects cos we might get more done while everyone is hiding from the heat [msncool]

Anyway - keep up the good work all you Florida experts. It has been good to look over the Q+As and do something that I used to do with Elaine back home - isn't the internet a wonderful thing [bowwave]

Good Luck Kevin, Elaine and The Little Pegs, hope all goes well with the move.
Are you moving for a short while or will it be more permanent?

hi Kenny

Elaine's working hard whilst you're setting up over there as i'm sure you know, remember to give her a big online hug won't you[grouphug]

back to some army training with the iron and board then, have you figured out where it plugs in yet[laugh] or you gonna wait til Elaine arrives:D

Paula

The move is permanent - though we are keeping our house in the UK for the future. An opportunity came my way that was just too good to pass up so here I am - and soon the others will follow.

Mizzy

Yes I have found the plug for the iron (luckily they are the same as the UK ones and I remember using one once to plug the TV in). I know how hard Elaine is working looking after the kids and getting everything ready for the move and rest assured that when she comes out with the kids in October I will do my best to make sure she has a bit of a rest and some fun before she goes back.

Hope you all settle in really quick. It must be hard going out and starting from scratch without your family. Best of luck to you all. Just think a very warm Christmas is on the way for you all.

It's hard to imagine Xmas without the cold - and without the decorations in the street and the cheesey music in the shops - but I'm sure we'll cope and make the most of it for the kids. Apparently it the temperature drops to a chilly 20 degrees Brrrrr - so jackets on then.

Yes I am looking forward to the family getting out here. It's been a long time since me army days and regular seperations. I'd forgotten how hard it was. But that will just make it more special when they do get here.

Got your DM Mizzy - and no I didn't read it the wrong way. Elaine has told me enough about you that I know what your like by now. But I'm sure I can think of a way to get my own back in May. Watch ya back missus[msneek]

Hi All

Just thought I would take a few minutes out of my busy day [msncool][msncool] and post a few pics that I have been taking in the month that I have been here so far.

Luckily the weather has started to cool down a bit now - it was only 41 degrees yesterday so hopefully it will be comfortable enough to sit in before too long.
I am now in our 3 bed apartment and Elaine and the kids are coming over in 5 short days[msnsmile2][msnsmile2][msnsmile2].

I have been trying to get things sorted and ready for when they get here but Elaine is quite adamant that I wait until she gets here before I get any furniture. It's almost as though she doesn't trust me or something [msnscared]. This probably stems from the fact that the living room is painted white and has a white tiled floor - so me in my wisdom went out and bought a white comuter table and white chair. Apparently I should have bought something with some colour in it and, as a result, Elaine has banned me from buying anything else until she gets here [msnembarrased][msnoo][msneek]

Anyway hope you enjoy the pics - I have tried to put a little description with each one so you know what you are looking at.

Kenny

The next pics are of one of my favourite eating places. The seating overlooks the lake and every 15 minutes the fountains start to dance to music and lights - which is nice [msnsmile2]

Kuwait is currently in the month of Ramadan - so at the times that these photo's were taken most of the locals were breaking fast with there families and would have been indoors feasting.

Having said that it never really gets busy - not in the way that it does in the UK or Florida - mainly because the heat is too much even for the locals to be outside for too long.

It is Emm - so much more so than people expect when you mention the place.

Nice avatar by the way - nice to see someone else getting into the Halloween spirit.

Hi Wilf and Sarah

Our office is in Ahmadi but I am working around on the refineries. Our apartment is in Mangaf - about a 5 minute drive from Fahaheel.

We are hoping to get our kids into school in Salmiya - at The English School

What amazing photos, I love the infinity pool. Kuwait certainly looks a stunning place.

Hope Mrs Peg and the little Pegs enjoy their stay, and that you manage to get some furniture - not white, of course....typical man......[msnwink]

Anyway, its always best to wait for the experts to arrive...:D

Hope you all settle down to your new life really soon, and best wishes for the future.

How did you take those wonderful night shots?

Barbara

We're not sure how long we'll be over here just yet - we're just going to take every day as it comes and see what happens.

Ellie

The night time shots were taken with the first digital camera we ever bought - about 5 years ago - and it was just on automatic with the flash turned off (and a very steady base of course). I was very pleased with the way they turned out to be honest.

Mizzy

If they're any way near as excited as I am then they probably won't be sleeping much this week.

Your pictures are lovely. It really does look like a gorgeous place. Love all the pools. Your long wait is nearly all over now then. only another 4 days. It must of been hard on you all being apart for a while. Hope you will all be very happy out there and you get the kids in the school where you want them. Good Luck [msnsmile2]
