Chrizzy100, Good luck with your closing, I bet you are soooooooo excited. I can remember our closing and I just couldn't believe our villa was so beautiful. Enjoy your 6 weeks, watch the old credit card, mine took a bashing when we first visited. Buying all the little extras to make it more homely. It sounds as if you are going to have many happy weeks there;)

Like, Caroline we're off on the 27th of this month for 2 weeks then again just after Easter, can't wait, you'd think the novelty would have worn off but each time seems like a new adventure as we get more ambitious with how far we'll venture off the beaten track and of course the villa never looks the same when we leave as there is always something we can to make it just a touch better.
Just like you Melfrank we were all "noobs" once, in our case we went in '96 when our daughter was 10 for the "once in a lifetime holiday", we all just got hooked and this next trip will be our 9th since then. I'm sure you will thoroughly enjoy it.

We're not going until Easter then again in August, my wife won't take our children out of school so I'll have to work a few more 14 hour days to pay for the extortionate flight prices:(

We're off in December for three weeks. I think even the highest ranked expert on this board would agree in saying that you are always learning new and interesting stuff from your fellow posters.

We're trying to get back again somewhere around the 1/2 term break if possible as our AP's for Universal & Seaworld run out in early December and Busch at the end of December, going next year instead adds nearly £1000 to the cost just for tickets.

Main problem is me :) I'm 6'6" and disabled (bad knees) and I've got acute IBS!, the IBS can be sorted for about 12 hours by taking 6 Imodium before we leave but I must have at least 34" seat pitch!.

We've been trying to get a charter flight from Newcastle, TCD came up with £2167 plus the upgrade to a 7 seater minivan but can't get a flight with premium seating like they did in April and as it's a Thomas Cook/My Travel flight cattle class is out of the question as it's only 28" :( Same problem with Manchester, cheaper flights but all Airtours/Air 2000 and 28" but maybe a 32" if possible but not guaranteed.

Next best option is scheduled via Amsterdam and Detroit with KLM/NW at a guaranteed 32" and about £300 cheaper than TCD!. KLM/NW have a freephone help line for disabled travelers so I may give them a ring and see what they can offer, I see from their website that all flights have special seats for disabled travellers.

Martinair gave me exit seats last December but the seats were very narrow and even though there were spare seats on the return flight the armrests were fixed so I couldn't stretch out across a row. Only other problem with scheduled this time is that with the extra flight change we end up making a 17 or 21 hour trip instead of 8 1/2 to 9 1/2 hours with the direct flight from Newcastle :(

Although I don't own a Home in Florida, there is only the 2 of us and there doesn't seem to be much point, but there are plenty of "Experts" that do and can help on most issues.

For my part having spent the last 6 years holidaying 2 or even 3 times a year, I just like helping people with their questions / problems.

One thing is for certain, the advice given is usually very sound and above all its free :)

Going on 25th for 6 days, why so short I expect your wondering? Wifes a teacher so we are popping over in half term. Went over for 17 days in August, will be doing the same in 2004.
Don't go over as often as we would like but the school holidays clash with the peak times people want to rent, so you can't have it both ways.

I often go out to Florida alone and see all of my friends, American and Brit, who live there. My husband is lucky if he can come over twice a year, because of work, but I like to come more often. In December when I go it will be my 5th trip since March. I don't always stay at my own place though, because it is booked, and often have to "move on" to a friend's home. I get to see and stay in other homes that way!!! :D:D

We have a "family" trip planned for next June/July with my daughter as well and 3 of her school friends, but I shall be out in Florida in 2004 before then!!!

We went in March, fly again on the 13th of December for 3 weeks, have 2 weeks booked at the end of May next year and are sat (im)patienly waiting for October 2004 school hols to be released.

We bought a villa in March, close from here at the end of next month, so our christmas trip will be extra specaial as we will be in our own home.

We have been going at least once a year since our eldest was 11 months old, he will be 12 on the 18th October, there is no-where else for us.

Well I'm off on November 1st for the 3rd time this year. And already looking forward to February next.

Taking me Ma with me in November. She's never been to Florida before, and is all excited about seeing my house.

Might bump in to HamptonLakes (Wesley), are you going out of LGW?

Although we dont own a villa, we regularly holiday in Orlando.

We were over twice last year, and are going back in June 2004 to introduce our little boy, Conell, to Mickey, Minnie etc.

Twice so far this year, April for 3 weeks to find a place. End of August for 2 more weeks
after closing. If i can just persuade the boss to let me have another 2 weeks off this year
and we'll be out like a shot. Flights are soooo cheap at short notice.

3 times this year! 2 weeks in January; 2 weeks April/May and 3-17 October. Currently looking to book our next trip sometime around end Feb/beg March 2004.

From that you can assume, and be correct, that we just love Florida![msnsmile2]

Hi well Im due to travel around 9th Nov 2003 just for a week and this will be my second trip, last one was back in July and my next trip is September 2004.

I have to say i love Florida and there is no place like it. You never have enough time to see everything and there is always something NEW.

The only place I have ventured out was a drive to Bush Gardens and hopefully next year we will going to clearwater and also I want to swim with the Dolphins @ Discovery Cove[msnsmile2]
