I'm waiting for an iPhone although I'd prefer a MUCH bigger storage option as my music alone is 24Gb+.

24Gb! How can you ever find anything on it??
I still use cds[msnembarrased], although my "noise of choice" would have to be the radio[msnsmile] I just couldn't live without it!

I know - if only they could get a 80Gb disk in an iPhone it would be a no-brainer for me.
The iPod Classic looks great but does not do anything my 60Gb 5th Gen iPod does not do so I won't be buying it. It even looks pretty much the same apart from the colour.
The iPod Touch with a much bigger disk would be tempting though [msnwink].

My 60Gb 5th gen iPod is full and I cannot get all my videos on board.
The iPod touch is just the iPhone without the phone, and does not have enough memory yet. I think I will wait a little longer, as the iPhone prices have already started to drop

Apple cut the cost of the 8GB iPhone by $200 yesterday [:O]
An indication that the hype has faded and it's not selling as well as expected, perhaps?

I think the price drop of the iPhone was to do with getting it into a slightly different market and preparing for holiday sales. I plan on getting one when my current contract with T-Mobile is up.
I have toyed with Apple's products in the past, and although I am not completely sold on the whole style thing, it has to be very much admired. The disappointingly thing about this issue, though, is that it doesn't seem as ground breaking as it should be because they released the iPhone. If they had released it at the same time then that may have made a huge difference (IMvvvHO).

I am the same. If the phone was able to store 30gb plus I would buy it. I can't justify the new IPOD as I too have the 5th gen version.
I think looking at this line up Apple are hedging their bets as they are not fully commited to the IPOD touch as they still have the old one. Maybe they will be how they sell before they get rid of the old one.

Dom according to the rumours the reason they have not made the iPod Tough with more GB is to keep it very thin, they will in time bring out a slightly larger one, they always do[msnwink]

Same here, no reason to upgrade from a 5th Gen 60Gb.
As soon as they have a Touch with at least 40Gb then we're talking (well not much talking just me purchasing).
IMHO they will bring out and iPod Touch with something like 40 or 60Gb but at the moment and for the launch they want to make it as thin as possible and the 40/60's will have to be thicker[msnwink] The same applies to the iPhone[msnwink]
Do like the look of the New Ipod Nano with Video, My youngest has also spotted it and would like one for her birthday. Well she does still have the Ipod Mini.
I am posting from the Apple Store in the Trafford Center, just had a play with the iPod Nano which is amazing and the iPod Classic too, both have cover flow which is so cool[msnsmile2]
iPod Touch should be in store by the end of the month[msnwink]
I am at the Apple Store again - sad I know but just had a play with the iPod Touch and it is gorgeous[msnwink]
alright!! i want one quick question though which shops in orlando or kissimmee do you recommend buying from?
i did see if anyone is interested i don't know if i can post a link or not but i have a hack for the iphone[msnwink]
Hi there, I have just returned from florida today, having bought an Ipod classic for my daughter and a new Ipod nano for me. The Ipod touch have been on sale in both Apple stores in Florida (Mall at Millenia and Florida Mall)since last week, but are very hard to get hold of as they sell out very quick. My daughter originally wanted the Touch, but was put off by the size of thr hard drive. She's delighted with the classic.:)
thank you blossom shall bear those in mind[msnsmile2]
Yes for me I would only buy from an Apple Store in the US or the UK.
The Touch does have the smaller hard drive but it all depends how and what you want to use it for[msnsmile2] They will bring out one with a larger hard drive at a later date but it won't be as thin[msnwink]

I was chatting with the Apple guy at my local CompUSA. He told me he's certain the new iPod touch is a short time first generation. Wait for next spring and there will be a larger hard disk. Also look for second generation iPhones to come along next year sometime.
Apple here in the USA are hurting because they decided to go with AT&T for the phone service. All other phone manufacturers sell their phones to all and any providers. I see Apple doing that in the future. If the iPhone was available with Sprint I'd have bought one. But I've been a Mac Head since the old IIsi. Points for anyone who remembers that!

I finally got hold of a iPod Touch for DH to add to his collection[msnwink]
Its amazing and although its only 16gb its such a fantastic piece of kit[msnsmile2]
I think I will be first in the queue for the iPhone now having seen his Touch[msnsmile2]
