I'm so relieved to have found this forum as I've been getting a bit bogged down with plans for our holiday. So much useful information all in one place!!
We are planning a holiday next July for my husband, 4 children aged 15-23 and girlfriend, plus 2 friends to celebrate lots of special birthdays and a Silver Weedding ! We have visited Orlando once before when we had a timeshare but this time are looking for villas - and I can't believe the choice. Gulf Coast is a bit harder but I'm getting there. I'm trying to work out the best locations for getting to Disney - sounds like security is an issue to be looked at too. Any more tips will be gratefully recieved, but I think I shall be a frequent visitor till next July!

All the Orlando area homes on here are within 15 mins from Disney so you may be spoilt for choice. Why not try an enquiry on http://www.orlandovillas.com and http://www.villasflorida.com to see what's available for your dates, then you'll know what choices of both homes and communities you will have?

I didn't quite understand your comment about security? None of the rental home communities have security issues - if you're referring to Lisi's unfortunate trauma, this took place at International Drive (some distance away from any of the home communities) and was a very isolated incident.

Hi Jan,
Welcome to the forum and hope you get lots of pleasure and information from it. Blott is exactly correct about safety. We feel much safer in the villa communities than in the UK. There is even gun law in the sleepy town of Hoddesdon today!
