hope i'm posting this in the right place

i believe there is no seperate line for dollar express at sanford, does anyone know if this is to be changed in the near future

and if not how do i get past the regular queue without upsetting those waiting in line, is there plenty of staff milling about to escort those with dollar express to the front or is it just a case of walking straight to the front and fearing the possible wrath of those waiting in line[msnscared]

The usual route go out and around and then back in through the back door so to speak. as soon as you enter the doors there is a desk on your right, if you wave your express to them, they are happy to help you get to the next desk, I did have a jobsworth once, and he said there was no dollar express at sanford, but another employee soon put him right and said you have to serve the express clients as they come in, he was a bit disgruntled to say the least,

As Ceri says, just grab a member of staff and they should escort you to the front of the queue.

I hired from Dollar at Miami International a few weeks ago. They had a separate Express Queue but would not let me use it since they said it not for people who had prepaid vouchers?
Anyone else experience this?

Did you have one of our vouchers with your Express ID printed on this? If so, then they are wrong. Other agents can not include Express ID on their vouchers, so the staff member may have been confused.

Yes, I had one of your vouchers with the Dollar Express ID on it. It was the first time that I had used Dollar Express so was not sure what the procedure was. As a result, I had to wait about 45minutes in line whilst the express queue (that I was turned away from) was empty.

I had a voucher with my express ticket on and when I got to the desk and gave it to the man he gave me it straight back saying they don't have express at Sanford.

You probably had the same guy I had first time, next time go to the desk on the right, and ask. If a dollar express client booked the car directly with dollar for picking up at Sanford it would have to express exactley the same, as Roger as said, they are the only agents with prepaid vouchers that can do dollar express.

When we went through a couple of weeks ago there was a lady at the front of the line looking out of Dollar Express card holders and making sure they were seen first.

The guy I had was horrible from the start. He pushed my express ticket back at me and I only just caught it before it fell on the floor. I made things worse too by saying no to an upgrade. He also tried to bully me into paying an extra £35 for extra insurance.
Missy both years flying into Sanford I had an hour delay here and both times I have walked straight up to a desk without seeing a queue. Like I said I always dash through and have never met a queue yet.

We arrived at Sanford on Saturday. On arriving at the Dollar desk we asked a lady where the Dollar express members went and she snapped back at us, that Dollar express had been discontinued and to get to the back of the queue. She also ordered myself, the children and all the suitcases outside, I explained that I was a driver, so needed to be inside to sign and she just barked at me to get out !!![msnmad]

My husband, who was not happy at this treatment, then marched upto the desk and said he was a Dollar express member and demanded to be seen next and they did.

I have to say, that we like Dollar and always rent from them, but the first lady we saw was rude and very unhelpful. I also witnessed her, demand that a man who was travelling with just his small son (Who, I am guessing was under 6) leave him and the cases outside on his own, while he sorted the car out. Obviously, he was not happy doing this and eventually, one of the tour operator ladies, sat with his son and the cases while he went inside. This is not just a one off, as last time my brother flew out, he went on his own and was told to leave his case outside, he explained he was travelling on his own and they said "Yes but you need to leave your case outside while you sort out your car" he ignored them as there was no way he was going to leave his case unattended.

I understand that they cannot have everyone and all the cases inside because it would be bedlum, but I think that the lady in question should could explain this to people rather than shout at everyone and also she should accept that there are exceptions to this, such as the man with his son and also people travelling on their own.

I did not get the ladies name, to complain about her, but she had her leg heavily strapped up (Not very helpful I know!).

I think someone needs to have a word with this lady about customer service ! after a long flight, the last thing you need is to be shouted at by her. She also needs to be told that Dollar Express does exist at Sanford and told how to deal with members.

Anyway, I feel better now for getting that off my chest.

I had the same thing at Sanford where they wanted my ten year old daughter to wait outside with my bags. I explained we were traveling alone but they wouldn't budge[msnmad]. They had security outside but I told them there was no way I would be leaving Lucy outside. It is a real pain really and they should be able to accommodate single passengers without having to leave your bags outside. I must of had the worst man serve me at Sanford to, Maybe they are related.

that's awful Clair and i think with a description of the lady you should perhaps still send off a email complaint (they know which staff will have been on duty at the time so they will narrow it down)

i am a little worried about this but will update this topic and ask for more recent experiences nearer to the time we fly

i was wondering if Roger could email and mention some of the problems too, would that be possible Roger?

When I flew into Sandford and I was on my own I was told to leave my case outside, but I just said no way and walked in pulling my case with me. The security people there are very officious and need lessons in how to deal with tourists. What first timer visitors must think I cannot imagine.

Whatevers happened to "dont leave your bags unattended" or they will be taken away and destroyed,it surprises me that they are telling passengers to do so

Update on Dollar Express at Sanford.

When we were there a few weeks ago we were told that you need to go to customer services and they will take you to the front of the queue.

Thanks for the tip. We are flying into Sanford next week and will be using dollar express[msnsmile] Whereabouts is dollar customer services?

As you go through where the people queue it's halfway down the hall on the right where the exit is to the car lot.

Mizzy that's no problem, ,I'll let you know how we get on when we get back at the end of October. We used Dollar Express at MCO back in April and it was fantastic[msnsmile]

Picking up the car is that last thing to do before heading onto the villa and we are always getting a little tired by then with over excited children so it's great to be given tips that can make collecting the car easier and quicker[msnsmile]

Yes Dawn it's just by the exit where you go out to pick up your car.

Marie we did it a few weeks ago they were very helpful don't worry[msnwink]

The only problem we found with Sanford was in the immigration hall 3 flights all in at the same time from the UK!!! Chaos! Mind you our flight was 1 hour early which we were really pleased about until we saw the queues![msncry]

Does anyone have experience of renting with Budget at MCO ? we normally book with Dollar when we fly into Sanford however ths year we are flying in MCO in November and are renting with Budget through UsCarhire, any tips would be grateful .I have read the threads re the Dollar express card and will get one for our next trip in May
